I agree . . . Especially, for people whom take their cars to the dealer for servicing. Why wave a brighter colored Flag, if you will. A spacer is just that . . . A spacer. A new non OEM plenum may potentially create more issues with a warranty manager down the road.

yea, i want the most gains (i'm assuming that would be from the 1/2" spacer) but i take my car to dealer for service. and i need under the hood to look stock as can be. could i get the 1/2 and only put the cover on b4 goin to the dealer, and just let it rub? or the hood won't even close? u guys suggest the 5/16 then?
