Fellow 03-04 Coupe owners 06 BRAKES

I have a 2004 G35 Coupe that i love but i just passed my 36k brake warranty. One of my coworkers just bought a 2006 G35 Coupe. I have noticed his front wheels stay clean no brake dust. Wile mine after 1 week are black as tar. It has trashed my rims.. Now does any one know if the front brakes on the 06 coupe are diffrent then the auto 04 coupe. If so i am going to have the 06 rotors and pad put on my car and live a long and happy life

I have an 04 coupe and just got all 4 brakes changed at 34,000. I asked the same question and they are different and cannot be fitted unto our cars.

I'm sure the dusting has more to do with the pad material, then the fact that the 06' have different calipers.

I owned an 04 Auto and now own a 05 MT. The brake dust is HUGELY reduced on the 05's as well, its amazing. I remember how aweful the brake dust was on my 04. It probably is mostly due to pad material as well as rotors. At least you 03-04 guys got hte brembos!

Yeah... I have an 05 6MT and brake dust isn't an issue... On my old passat, after a day or two the front wheels would be blackened entirely... I'm glad I jumped into the G scene late in those regards.

performance brakes = brake dust

my 04 Evo created the most brake dust I've ever seen on a car... day after day cleaning my rim just got sick of it and left it alone.

Get a ceramic pad it will reduce or eliminate the brake dust completely. You can buy one at you local auto shop for about $33 per set. You don't have to change your calipers either.

I agree with glennp get ceramic pads. I need some for my stock brembos because I too hate washing it time after time. Better get some dark gunmetal rims!

2 words:

black powdercoat

ceramic pads sounds good, but also make sure you wax your wheels whenever you get a chance.

the newer pads have SIGNIFICANTLY reduced dust, but fade performance is TERRIBLE. I ruined mine after 10 minutes on the track.

Yeah, no brake dust here. I like the Brembo's too and wished they left it on the 05's until I had 4 friends who also had G's: 3 were 03-04's and one was an 05. The 3 with the Brembo's costantly has some type of problem with the brakes whereas the 05 doesn't Oh well, I love my brakes not having dust all over the place. One thing about the Brembo's though...why the ugly gold color? Anything but gold! I have the 05 6MT coupe btw.
