Mandatory appear in court?

Bottom line is you're fine, you wont go to jail or anything so dont stay up at nite scared of that, you'll jsut get fined and points on your license.

THAT WILL HURT SO MUCH MORE THEN 237 BUCKS IN 3 YEAR ON MY INSURANCE.... I THINK IN CALIFORNIA, IF YOU GET 4 POINT IN ONE YEAR, YOU ARE SCREW..

cuz this is my second ticket which i got after one week from traffic school. gotta pay up now. haha.if u're in the same situation as me, just ask the judge for secondary offense traffic school which is wat i'm gonna ask for. GL.

KPC, i would def. go to court. hows ur driving record? i just got reckless in NJ on my motorcycle like 90'ish in a 35. Since my record was good(nothing in the last 5 years) they dropped reckeless(5pts) and made it careless(2pts). They usually always lower it if your record is pretty good.
