AVN5435 vs Tein basics/camber adjustment

Well i know that this is really going to come down to me and that no one can tell me what i will like more or regret buying more.... but humor me with a response. I have one friend who's really into cars and modding and making them perform well... he wants me to get the basics and slam my car... then i have the friend who thinks that the pimp factor of the nav would outweigh suspension. I will be getting one or the other, but which one should i get and why? I dont track my car... If i lower my car it will be almost purely for aesthetic reasons. If i get the navigation, it would be a combination of the upgraded headunit, the navigation function, the pimp (aesthetic) value of the dvd player, and a better base to begin upgrading my sound components from. I really like the idea of being able to have mp3 cd's and have it display the names of the artists/ song and everything.

I say, if you track alot, then get the suspension... if not, then nav!

again... the suspension would be purely cosmetic. i think that i would get more use/joy/happiness out of nav.... but i also would love to have my g slammed.

IMO.... Of the 2, upgraded sound system is a must. With the Eclipse avn5435, get a nice amp, components and subwoofers, will sound 10x better than stock unit. Oh yeah, plus you get a nice nav.system. Slammed G does look sick, you can for now just get springs, and save up for coilovers.

coilovers are nice...but if you're not tracking the car what do you want to spend that much on slamming the car for. Get some springs and the nav!

I was in the same boat as you 20 minutes ago. Then, as I got into my car to ride to lunch, I realized I can't live with my weak Tein S.Tech springs, and need a real suspension.

well.... i guesss i left out one last parameter.... i dont want to throw springs on stock shocks... because if im going to spend the money, i wat to go lowwww..... i also want to be able to return my car to stock to sell it in a couple of years. The only options for suspension that i would consider are:

coilovers with rear camber arms together at first and save for front a-arms, probably evos, from time i get the coilovers

or

springs with d-specs and rear camber arms together at first and save for front a-arms, maybe kinetix if i can get back in specs...

I would be going to a ZERO gap between tire and wheel well (stock 18s) and a little negative gap in front after i save for a-arms if i get the coilovers. If i go springs i would get kinetix probably because there arent any springs that i would want that go low enough to warrant spending the extra 400 for the extra adjustablity.

I will only be doing this for LOOOOOKSS.... if i lowered my car, i would probably never get nav because i would save for some pimp wheels if i was slammed...

on the other hand....

if i get the avn5435, i will have a bada$$ headunit to start my system with. I also have the gay part of buying the double din dash out of the way. I would probably save for an amp and new front speakers at first after the avn... and then probably get headrest screens... and then probably a jl10w6. The sub would be last because im not a HUGE fan of bass-y music... and the bass i have in the bose system is ALMOST enough for me. If i upgrade my speakers im sure it would be alright until i saved that last bit of money for the sub.

btw... if youre wondering what timeline im looking at i can save about $100-150 a week... and sometimes.. like this week and over the holidays i can make $200+ a week because im working 6 days. I deliver chinese and usually work 3 days a week 3 hours a day... but sometimes i can get 1 more day or stay late a copule of days so i end up working 11-15 hours a week making at least $12 an hour... average $15 or so though... so it wouldnt be alll going into a G at once. I would rather wait and get NICE stuff though than get a system all at once and be done with a half as$ed system. BTW i would go 4080 box

either way I think suspension takes alot more careful planning. I had coil-overs for my old car and had way too much issue cambers, tires and everything. I would say if you do it once makes sure you do it right.
