300 hp rw drive cars SUCK in the snow!
Wow... I just can't go anywhere!
I'm riding around in my friend's cars until the snow melts basically. This car is just useless! It's horrible. I REALLY should have gotten some snow tires put on, though I think most of the problem is the fact that the car is RW drive.

Get some dedicated winter tires.
Mine blasts though winter no problem including ski country

It's absolutely the tires. On my PZero's the car is useless in the snow, it took me almost 3 hours to get back to my house (downtown Toronto) from Scarborough (normally 20 minutes) when we had a surprise snow a couple weeks ago. I put my winter tires on and traction is no problem at all. Of course you have to feather the pedal, but I'm confident I'd be fine on ice with the winter setup.

If we had parked the all the RWD vehicles everybody would have had to bum rides with the two or three guys in town who owned an Olds Toronado.
Seriously, it's more about the tires than it is about which wheels drive or how much weight is on the axle. IMO, with a good set of winters all around, a RWD car will perform as well or better than a FWD car.

Seems like this is the first experience with summer performance tires for a lot of owners.
I think Infiniti should be at the very least telling these people that the tires are useless in the snow. I remember that the M3 CSL tires were so close to slicks, that you had to sign a waiver saying you knew not to drive in any bad conditions

The biggest problem with summer tires is that rubber gets too stiff from the cold and you loose almost all traction in snow. The G has extremely good weight distribution to the rear tires, so with a good setup its really pretty good in the snow. It snowed an inch 1/2 the other day and I took my G in an open parking lot to see how well it would do with fast turns and braking and it did surprisingly well, and I only have on Michelin sport A/S. The civic's get going pretty well, but I find they handle worse in the snow than the G's. My friend's FWD Pontiac GXP spun nearly as much in the snow as my car.
I also had a friend in a WRX fly off of an on-ramp in the snow; you can't expect to drive fast when its icy out period.

when I bought my G a few years ago, it couldn't even get up a small grade hill with the stock tires...added winter tires and I was ice racing the car (no, seriously I ice raced the car and beat out more cars than you'd think with the dedicated setup). I think RWD cars are much more manageable in the winter than front wheel drive...and more fun too. You just have to have the right tires. I suppose you could also buy a beater for winter...but winter tires are probably cheaper.
