Mod friendly or not, the dealer has to honor the act.. i forget what its called... but it basically says that they have to prove that a "mod" is causing the problem and they just can't assume it is. You can find more information on it.. if you search ... print out a copy of the act and take it to the dealership. Good Luck to your friend.

Could it be something as simple as the Oil dip stick not pushed all the way closed. I had something like this happen.

I was driving down the street and noticed smoke coming from the engine bay. Pulled over and didn't see a thing so closed the hood and drove Little further... Same thing. Pulled over and then I noticed my dip stick had accidentally came loose by my MAF sensor plug when I had my Z tube on.

Just a thought.

The Problem is your basically going to have to get a lawyer to force them to do service, and even then the quality of the service will be poor. I would take it to a mod friendly nissan/infiniti dealer. The guys you're dealing with will always just blame the mods. Its a hassle, but this is the risk you take when you mod your car.

The thing is you will never truely know whats wrong with your car until you have a honest mechanic look at it, so any fight with them will be fruitless unless you get a second opinion.

Well my buddy didnt want to deal with roseville anymore so we took the car to elk grove. Now these guys know how to treat people! We were hit with would you guys like a drink or cookies? He said it was like day and night. I just laughed! They gave us a loaner and said that they would call us in a bit. We went to breakfast and when we were done he got the call. They said that the tranny was DONE! He didnt know how the car was still shifting! He then said that his rack in pinion was leaking oil. He said they put oil in and it went straight through. He then wanted to know if the car could be left there because he had to order all new parts. My buddy was in shock at how easy they were to deal with! This place is what it should be like when you take your car in! These guys were on the ball! NOW what can be done about that other dealer? After all they said the tranny was perfect, lol.

Good news! Pleased to read of a positive outcome.

What can be done about the other dealer? Well, I don't think there is much which can be done. If they wish to act like ******, they will do as they please.

Hmmm . . . Who was the pricky dealer by the way?

Their work will follow them. I'm just glad that after all that work/time you're getting some results. Good luck!

Call Nissan/Infiniti Consumer Affairs and open up a complaint file. Trust me, those complaints do not go unanswered!
