JAPAN NISSAN DEALER

The last 2 weeks I was shopping around to get a indash DVD player from PIONEER. I don't have a NAV, but I would like to throw a nice looking aftermarket indash DVD player inside the compartment. I know it's really hard to put it inside there, but it will look nice. I talked to that guy, and he said "In japan they have a kit, for an aftermarket indash player."

I really want to buy be a INDASH player, but it's just so hard to put it inside.

How much would it cost? But the prob. is that the guys are all scared they said "It's not like a honda, your car is brand new, and expensive." I would spent less than $2000.
I just don't want to cut the dash, only the place where the NAV supposed go. Is that possiple?

Re: JAPAN NISSAN DEALER

I just made a lot of research, but I cannot find anything. If there is a JDM dashkit I just ask my friend to get it for me, I think It's a lot cheaper too. LOL

Here's a pic of the double din JDM dash. Also a link to the ebay auction where it was sold. And a link to the Fresh Alloy thread where this was discussed.

And here's a pic of a Japanese Skyline 350gt where the owner used the double din dash for an in-dash DVD nav unit.

By the way Kozlikracing19, if you have a friend that can get you the double din dash from Japan, let me know 'cause I'm interested in getting the JDM fog lamp kit.

Re: JAPAN NISSAN DEALER

=========================================

Yet another pic... I researched the Pioneer DVD Nav and found this model going for $2200. Makes me glad I got the nav option in my G. However, this Pioneer has touch screen and voice recognition which the stock nav does not have.

I just noticed this is similar to the unit in the picture of the Skyline 350gt above... his unit must be a Pioneer, too... what a conincidence.

Anyway, Maxximaniac (Zaid918) has a nice set up. But for me personally I would find it hard to have my dash cut up like that. Those pics are like watching facelift surgery. The end result is nice, but the process to get there looks extremely painful.

Getting the double din JDM dash may be a more expensive option, but you'd have a cleaner install in my opinion. The JDM dash solves the issue of the shared circuit board between the AC controls and the stock Bose stereo. The JDM dash comes with a new circuit board just for the AC controls. This is the option I would go with if I did not get the stock/factory nav.

Re: JAPAN NISSAN DEALER

There is a site called Japanparts.com http://www.japanparts.com that sells a lot of JDM options as well as Nismo and other aftermarket items. (By the way, JDM stands for Japan Domestic Market. Many of the options offered for the Japanese market are not available in the U.S. Market.) The double DIN dash is not on the Japanparts site, but their faq states that if it's not listed you can send them an email and they will see if they can get it for you.

Here are some JDM options for the G not offered for the U.S. Market:

1. HID Fog lamp kit
2. Double DIN Dash option
3. Momo steering wheel
4. Rear backup camera integrated with nav
5. Front bumper left and right cameras integrated with nav
6. Automatic folding side mirrors
7. Automatic tilting side mirror when in reverse
8. Mood lighting, foot well lighting and blue lights that illuminate the ground when you enter and exit
9. Additional trunk lighting
10. Proximity sensors on front and rear bumpers

Check out the Nissan Japan site for all the JDM options. Site is in Japanese, but it's easy to figure out.
