And I'm sorry, but the sparkly gold brake calipers ARE a bit cheesy. I understand that they'd want to advertise them and make them stick out, but how about a nice shiny black or a deep red?

Yeah, you can really feel that 15.6:1 to 15.1:1 change. It's killer. Not.

They also upgraded the system to speed sensitive power steering rather than just RPM sensitive power steering. You love it.

Given the issues with rear steering in the past, I'm sure Nissan wouldn't have brought it back without having good reason with more advanced algorithms attached. I read a Car and Driver review of the M45 with rear active steer and they seemed to love it.

Where did I admint that?
I could present all the facts and you still would come back with some more of this stupid stuff... The best cars in the world have fixed calipers without RAS...
I've dealt with good oposition for years in these forums, there is no end until one of us quit and I am almost done. (maybe)
I personally like the RAS and would have the option if it was available in 04.

Yeah, different colors would have been a great option, that is why I chose the Twighlight Blue, it matches the gold perfectly. BTW, you can't get the TB anymore either, so that makes my TB 6MT on Graphite, with premium pack a rare car so the residual value will be great in 08 when I trade it for the GTR (if it really makes it) and I bet it comes with RAS and Brembo's. If your still here, I'll post a picture for ya'

The residual value's only great if there's a high demand.

I admit that the Brembo is a better brake. What I question is the real world performance difference on our cars.

I will NEVER own another BMW, they helped me with nothing and the car was bone stock, except for 4 new tires I purchased right before the trip.
I took a HUGE LOSS on that M3; good luck with yours.
Let's hope that in the past 10 years BMW has improved their quality for the better. Honestly the car is nothing short of amazing and I love it more and more every day (and yes brake feel is much better than in my '05 G35 ). I don't believe in the new iDrive gadgetry or the Bangalized BMW look, so I got the last timeless BMW design before Bangle took over and ruined everything for BMW. I owned a Maxima before that had its fair share of problems btw, but that didn't stop me from buying a G35.

Glad to hear that you like it. I considered an M3 when I was looking at the G35. A good friend of mine recently sold his M3 because he was sick of many little problems, the biggest of which to him was the clicking in the rear differential that BMW couldn't solve. He said the driveline just felt sloppy and it really bothered him (he had the manual transmission), so he got rid of it. I ended up wanting something that I thought would be more reliable and capable of handling a turbo or supercharger down the road without blowing up.

I came up in the 300 ZX scene back in the day. People were disabling the HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Steering) system left and right. It was evident who had disabled it by a visible Stillen plate beneath the rear suspension. There will be people disabling the rear active steering on their G's soon enough.

Another note ...replacement of the HICAS setup with the simple Stillen assembly resulted in a 50% weight savings over the HICAS system itself. It saved $$$ down the road too since it was freakin' EXPENSIVE to maintain the HICAS system.

Hopefully they've worked out all the kinks! Otherwise I doubt they would have brought it back. There's just a single electric motor on a steering rack in the back for the RAS, so I doubt it will be much to maintain.

Yes, but there is a lot of torque demanded of the motor to alter the wheel's toe for the RAS to work. Motors last a while, but never as long as you'd like them to!

Hmmm, good point. I going to try and figure out how to disable my variable intake and exhaust valve timing this weekend. Just more stupid technology that'll break eventually!
