Installing iso thermal plenum spacer yourself?

How hard per-say is the install if you do it yourself and have almost 0 car knowledge? (e..g, I don't even own a torque wrench, would have to go buy oine, lol). The 3 things that really worry me are

- Dropping something into the open manifold/intake/wtf that is :/

- Not being able to put the upper/lower plenum back together

- Having to cut into the coolant line to install the valve :/

That phrase right there leads me to recommend that you take it to someone a 'tad' bit more knowledgeable.

It's an easy install. No cutting required.

You might want to invest in one of those small magnetic pick-ups if you are prone to 'dropping things"

then how do you install the valve in the coolant line? The instructions clearly say 'cut 1 1/2'' segment from line'.....

Easy stuff.

I didn't have an INCH/POUND torque wrench so I used a DRIVER handle with a 10mm socket and just hand tightened everything.

DO NOT USE A FOOT/POUND torque wrench, you will snap the bolts. Just follow the directions as precisely as possible.

Actually, the MREV install was relatively simple. I used a serrated knife to cut the coolant line for the CCV install. Since then, I have installed the copper heating plate.

If you can read and follow Tony's instructions, you should have a fairly easy time of it. However, if you are uncomfortable installing the MREV, I would highly suggest having someone else perform the install. I had not worked on a car for some 20 years and found it quite simple.

Either way . . . You will have a blast with the MREV . . . Enjoy!

are you installing the at or mrev version? the at version is easier....see thread from Cato above. the coolant line is rubber and easy to cut

Sorry about that. I misread your post. You are essentially still installing the exact same things.

I just installed my MREV a few hours ago. It took me about 3 hours. It really was the first time ive ever done mechanical work on a car. Was not difficult.
