06 projector

for those of you with the 06 g35c, do u think that the projector light is aimed too low? the light is bright enough, but i dont think it goes far enough or high enough. my uncle's audi light is aimed higher and can see farther ahead.

I think they could be aimed a TAD bit higher.....but most of the time driving in the city it doesnt make a difference to me.

I have noticed that they don't go quite as far as I would like on the back roads here.

i adjusted them...they are a lot brighter now, although i think i may have aimed them a tad bit too high...when i compare my projectors to my friends TSX projects, his cutoff is a LOT higher than mine. Granted his car sits higher than the G35 stock but I didnt think it should have been that much of a difference so I adjusted mine. Also, when driving through tunnels and what not I can see other cars projector cutoffs on the side wall and every single car I have seen has a cutoff that has a less of a downward slope than ours and even goes furthur before hitting the ground...

i just LOVE seeing how the projectors leave a nice sharp cutoff next to walls. especially the tsx's projectors are pretty damn sharp!

and how did u go about adjusting your projectors daniel?

Aiming

You can adj. the lens vertically only.

I adj. mine a bit too high and I got flashed several times a night. I guess ppl. thought I had my highs on so you just have to find the happy medium. To correctly aim the lights use the guide that is posted under the "Lights" forum. Just do a search.

Use this picture as a guide for adj. your lights. Sorry the headlamp is upside down. Hope this helps with the questions.

you just have to pop your hood and there should be a hole on each of the covers of the headlight...in the hole is something that looks like "teeth" for a lack of a better term ...you put a philips screwdriver in the hole and i believe you turn clockwise to raise the headlights vertically...If you ever adjusted headlights on say a HONDA i believe its the same way with the G35...hope this helps!

thanks for the info Daniel. i remembered seeing what you're talking about the other day.

but lets just say, when you insert the phillips screw driver in that part where you mentioned and it leaves like a mark on it which is noticeable. and lets say one of your OEM bulbs burns out later down the road... you take it to the dealership and they state that you were tampering with the headlight so therefore they wont exchange your bulb under warranty...

would something like that be able to happen??

I ask because i've started to notice that my passengers side headlight needs to be a bit higher... but either way, i dont really care because i'll be upgrading to the 06 headlights.

thanks again man!

the thing about the warranty is that when you upgrade to the 06 headlights you have to use d2s bulbs (for the projectors) as opposed to the d2r bulbs for the 03-05 headlights...so you would have to buy a new set of bulbs when you get the 06 lights...the only way a "warranty" would be in effect is if you buy the bulbs d2s bulbs from the dealer but it cost an arm and a leg so most ppl just buy bulbs off ebay...therefore no dealer warranty........................................bu t you can use the bulbs you have on your 05 right now by scraping off some coating that is on the bulb and making a notch on the base of the bulb, which essentially turns it from a d2r bulb to a d2s bulb
