Well unfortunately I can say that... "I can feel your pain".

Here's what I've learned...

1. A highly modified ride does NOT buy happiness. I'm sportin' around in a 2006 Tacoma Double Cab, TRD, tow package, roof racks, side steps, 8 air bags (you'll want this option ) and a few more goodies and I'm JUST AS HAPPY as I was in my Supercharged Infiniti, which really surprised me. You will NOT be less happy with another car. Remember, you are NOT what you drive. I'm saving SO MUCH money now that I've paid off the Sequoia ($720/month) and I'm not spending on average of $800/month in mods. This means that I can pay off the $27,000 (TTT incl.) Tacoma in 12 months!

2. The 2006 G35 has changes that I personally did not like. Not to mention that resale will drop like a rock when the new body style comes out in 2007. 2 big reasons that I didn't get another Infiniti. Also, my Vortech wouldn't fit the 6MT so that sealed the deal for me.

3. I got ~58% of the money I spent on my mods back AFTER I factored in shipping and every associated cost of returning the vehicle back to stock (including $5 for new brake fluid). I got back ~$10,400 out of $17,500 in total money laid out. Not too shabby. Also, if the center pieces of the Volks are still good, try to have the outer rings REPAIRED! That's right, most bent/curbed 2 piece wheels can be fixed for ~$200 each. As long as they can get the center piece out you're cool. (I just learned this and will never buy another 1 piece wheel again because of this.)

Hang in there and remember that people go through this every day. Welcome to the club.

I just picked up the Is250 with my sister becasue she crashed her passat. They are beautiful cars, and no doubt the most comforatable cars i have ridden in. I love the push button start as well!

sorry to hear about your accident. i was driving through the horrific rains yesterday in Sacramento and i had to brake a few times to avoid dumb drivers. anyhow, the first time i tried to brake, all i got was water. just a tip to you guys, you should brake a little bit once in a while just to release the water build up in our brakes. if not, when you do need it, you won't be able to stop. i was getting off on an exit and although i still broke in time, it definitely felt like i was braking with goo as pads.

your car is totalled for sure. it's worse than my car and my car was similar. really glad to see that you're safe as well.

good luck with your decision on a new car. the IS250/350 isn't such a bad car. girls like it too. my gf saw one and really liked it. either way, just pick something that you feel good driving in. nothing other than a test drive will tell you if it's the car for you.

Go with the IS 350, it comes with the forumla F1 paddle shifts, that is basically like a manual. I think it does 0-60 in 5.5

Except for the clutch and most likely the transmission... I bet doing a heel toe maneuver is a bit more tricky too.

oh geezus! my stomach turned when i scrolled down and saw the aftermath pics...be thankful your still alive man, i had a pretty nasty accident in which i initially cursed the fact that i had lost a brand new car (less than a week old), but then i realized i coulda died. like someone else posted, a car is replaceable, a life is not. the best of luck and safety in your new year dude.
