Need your help wise guys...

So here is the thing, my car suffered an accident a little after my break in period was complete. Due to this, I had never tried (never before it was fixed) to drift or do a launch with tire spinning. After I got the car back, I started to drive it hard and while it does drift on corners when I want it to, I cannot make the tires spin on a straight line.

To get you guys to understand the problem better, the car was hit in the driver's front wheel which messed up my front suspension. The bastard messed up every single panel from bumper to bumper looking at it from the drivers side but only the front wheel sustained the big damage (rest was just scratched a little). The only other thing that might be worth mentioning is that my rear passenger tire has fix-a-flat in it.

I am not sure why it does not want to do burnouts. When I try to do them, the wheels start spinning, but the car starts shaking and it feels like its going to dismantle itself... I had a 6mt 04 previously and it did the stuff perfectly so now the 2005 6mt doesnt. Is this because...
a) limited slip differential that they added
b) tires are not properlly balanced
c) fix-a-flat fixed tire
d) other...

I dont want infiniti to know this as I will trad it in and if this is due to the accident, I dont want to get less trade-in value than I already will. I might wait for the redesigned 2007, current M3, or future M3 (if the car looks good). But that is a far way ahead. Thank you guys for your help.

its not taking power from me like when VDC is turned on. Wheels still spin, its just that the car shakes like a washing machine and no SLIP light appears. Besides, it drifts fine when I am going sideways.

And these tires make no sound when breaking loose. They really have to slip before you notice it. I find myself breaking traction ever so slightly in 1st all the freakin' time... ...without really sticking my foot in it or trying to. I only have 1600 miles on my '05, but almost every one of those miles has been with the VDC off. Perhaps my tires or more worn than yours?

yes, wheel hop thats exactly what I mean. When I am 100% stopped and put the car in 1st gear while pressing the clutch and rev it to 3krpm and let go fast, the god damn car doesnt stay still while wheels spin, its starts to shake really bad. When I am accelerating hard and I shift from 1st to 2nd then there is wheel spin with no shaking for a short time. My 2004 g35 didnt do that. I recall it not making too much noise when I tried doing a burnout it, but It spun the rear wheels without them hopping (hence not making the car shake). Is this wheel hopping normal on the 05's?

when i've been to the track i can definately tell you i've encountered the 'washing machine' effect you're talking about lol

it sounds really crazy!!!! the first time it happened it got me worried, but after a couple of times, it's just normal, it's wheel hop. all you need is more practice and you'll find the sweet spot to not having the 'washing machine' effect

^ what do you mean practise? I did the same thing with my 04 that I do now with my 05 but the darn thing doesnt want to do it. I have tried to leave it shaking for longer in hopes once revs climb up it will stabilize, but I am affraid the car is going to dismantle itself!

My friends M3 does it no problem, my previous 04 G35 did it no problem, now this? wtf?

instead of dumping it from a dead stop, try rolling really really slow, like 5mph or less and just slip it kinda quick, dont dump it, but rev it up and slip the clutch a tad and get the wheels to break lose and see what it does. when you bang 2nd, its not nearly as much as initial shock as when your standing still in 1st gear at a dead stop dumping it. now as to your last car not doing that, i'd think maybe its because u have the 19" rims instead of 17's or 18's on ur last car and its acting differently...

Hop

Maybe cause your '05 gets better grip with the 19s, the tire grabs and lets go causing the hop. Try giving it more gas from the start, the faster it will spin it won't grab.

Thanx for all the advice. I am not with my car now, but I will be soon (in 3 days) and I will try doing it differently. I thought that the accident caused it in some way. My friend's m3 has 18's too so once he puts on 19's he should have the same problem?

I rather think its that I am doing it incorreclty than the car having problems. I really hope I can make the darn wheels spin instead of skip so that my mind rests from the pain I feel thinking it might have been the accident.
