I have noticed that more than 70% of the time when clutching in in first (moving or coming to a stop while braking) there is a clunk. I wonder if it has anything to do with the speed I depress the clutch. I've never heard of anyone emphasizing on how to depress the clutch, the talk is usually on how to let go of the clutch. I don't really slam on the clutch but it still clunks in the mentioned condition. Is it normal at all?

edit: the clunking sound sounds like when you drop the clutch or when you don't rev match

 

No, it's not normal. Make an appointment with your service department and have them check it out. Chances are that it's something minor and easily correctable, but don't ignore it.

I hear this clunk some of the time too. It sounds like it's coming from the pedal area.
