Headlights with black housing available?
I'm just wondering if somewhere out there some company has made the G35 headlights with black housing instead of the mirror-like factory housing. It would look sick on black G's.
anybody...?

you guys can always crack'em open and paint them ya know. Kinda ricey but should look nice. Problem is your headlights wont be bright anymore as I think they're reflector types not projector type HID's. Black housing wont work unless you got the projectors.

yeah, he's right guys.
I've seen a few 2003 corolla's like that, but i must say it looks SOOOOOOOOO sweet with the darkened housing (corolla=reflector)
i believe the JDM corolla uses a darkened housing, stock.
but dont quote me on that, haha
Anyway, it looks sweet on a black car. with the coupe it would look even nicer because it would match the black chrome grill!

Crack 'em open!!?!?!? that's like cutting springs to lower your ride. They'll be available soon.. I can feel it! Same as smoked side markers (I'm surprised they're not available yet), don't like the clear ones on black G's.

I think it would absolutely look awesome. But what we really need is to get our reflector's replaced with a projector housing. Anyway something that looks like this:
lights from a 360 modena
2003.5 6MT Coupe || Black/Graphite || Premium || Aero || Tint || Al. Pedals

Re: Headlights with black housing available?
Well if they do come out aftermarket then it's gonna cost big bucks cuz you'll have to get both the integrated high and lowbeams in projectors in addition to the housing. I used to own a wrx and the jdm sti black housing projector headlights costs thousands! Another problem is aren't all aftermarket HID shops discontinued now since aftermarket hid's have been illegal? If this is the case there's no hope but to maybe import directly from japan. Since the vendors based in the U.S. probably wont want anything to do with them. Again more bucks. If you somehow get them over here you'll probably still have to custom rig electrical harnesses cuz chances are the jdm harnesses are different. That's how it was with the sti lights. Also don't forget that the cars there are right hand drive and when installed on our left hand drive cars will have the beam aim pointed at oncoming traffic blinding them unless you can adjust sufficiently. In the case of the Sti lights they couldn't. Don't wanna put too much a damper on this idea folks but just want to let you know the potential problems of getting these lights.

Here's a pic from freshalloy of the G35 Coupe that was introduced at the New York International Auto Show. I have several pics just like this one, to give you an idea of the black headlights on a silver G35c.
If the pic doesn't work, it can be found here:
