I was wondering if you are supposed to get VIN after your car is built when you pre-order it, like 350Z owners are. When I first talked to my salesperson and placed a pre-order, he said that I will receive VIN after my car is built and I will be able to track it somewhere on Infiniti website. Now, 4 weeks later, I was talking to him and he said that he will only receive VIN# 1 week before delivery.

Does anyone know more about this ?

You should be able to get your VIN as soon as the dealer gets confirmation of assembly of your car. IE as soon as they are assigned one in the factory.

Andrew, on the same subject do you know the web-site for tracking your car once it's built? I'm expecting my Coupe sometime soon and would like to know how it progresses. I often hear the guys talking about some site that has all the #'s

I don't actaully know that, but I bet you could easily get an answer to this if you go over to Fresh Alloy. Ask that specific question and I bet DFW can answer (he is a gm of an infiniti dealer in Dallas and posts all the time). Or someone else could who followed this.

BTW- I believe the VIN's are asigned during the assembly process so that all the stickers, ID's, and windshield plate can be applied.........Later
