Thinking about buying ...
Thinking about buying ...
I'm soon to replace my daily driver and considering the following . . .
- G35 Coupe (new)
- 350Z (new)
- BMW 330 convertible (used)
- BMW 540 (used)
- BMW M3 (used)
I am looking for a spirited daily driver that is practical, dependable and fun. The M3 has unmatched performance, but it comes at a price ... even used.
Being a G35 forum, I realize that you are biased. But I would appreciate any feedback.

Re: Thinking about buying ...
Is the M3 still going to be warrantied or how many miles would it have?
Looks like you got all kinds of cars that can be used as a daily driver in that sig of yours
Oh and what year is the M3 going to be? Don't bother with a 330.. blah.. It looks nice and all but it's not that great.. I live in So Cali and every chick has a Bimmer...
I would say if the M3 is cheaper and has low miles go with it...
Hell just go for the G35 Coupe.. this car has better looks and cleaner lines... The M is well... just another typical high end Bimmer... just has more ponies... looks ain't that great, but the extra power is nice... Over here I noticed a lot of people starting to drive last years M3's... I guess getting them used is probably about 30k or so so... hmmm not sure... blah I'm rambling on just get a G35 Sports Coupe...lol...

Well your right as far as the biased opinion. But I had a 99 BMW M3, so I can sort of relate. I hooked it up with all the clear corners and loved it.
First you have to look at your needs. As far as the Z and the G35- I chose the G35 for a few reasons- 1st, It's an Infiniti and its a classier car than the Nissan. But I also wanted 4 seats in my car- Not that I drive alot of people around, but I use the back seats when traveling or if I do need to drive some people around. I had a 2 seat car before (95 vette) and swore never to have 2 seats again. I also wasn't crazy about the styling of the Z.
As far as the Beamers- I wouldn't consider a used car- even if they are certified. They rob you on the prices. Also they are changing the bodystyle over to the new 7 series look for the 5 series and in 2 years the 3 series.
It would take too long to get into a bunch of details. But take them for a test drive. I love the G35 out of all the sports cars and luxury cars I have owned.

Thanks for the feedback. All things considered, the G35 seems to offer a pretty good package. At this point, I'm definitely leaning toward the Infiniti.

Re: Thinking about buying ...
I was right there where you are like a a month ago. After a while I eliminated the bimmers just becuase they would cost a lot more (I was looking at new 330ci and new M3). Then I was stuck between the Z and the G. To make a long story short I saw what both had to offer and the G offers a lot more for the price. The Z is a legendary car but when you measure Sunroof, leather, Brembos, Bose, better interior, better warranty, loaner for service, and better service vs. the Z's status it is a no brainer. The G is making a name for itself.
Good luck!!
