But otherwise, make sure they check the inner side of your rims and make sure there's no bend. And ask for a wheel alignment after your car gets fixed.

GP20, I notice you put an order down for the Z4 M... is that the roadster or the coupe? I just found out about the M coupe today and am considering putting down my name for it, but don't know if dealerships have a waiting list yet.

I ordered the roadster. I probably would've gone with the coupe if I didn't have the G35 coupe.

A lot of dealers (but not all of them) have already begun accepting orders. There's already an official order sheet that lists all the options/colors/packages available. The earliest delivery time would be late March. For those dealers that are not accepting orders, it's because they were only allotted a limited number of MZ4's by BMWNA and the cars were already reserved so you'd need to get on the waiting list.

You can find more information on: www.z4um.com. That's the best Z4 forum out there.

Here's a couple of official pictures of the MZ4 coupe.

How much is the z4?

No worries about the rims Gio,
I'll let you know exactly what I'm looking for as far as rims/tires/offsets/etc...

Tough accident. I think the majority of the accidents we see on this board with the g is due to the vdc off. I mean it happend to me with my 03 and from that point on the button became non existent to me. When this car decides to break loose, you really really gotta have some skills and luck to get it back straight. I mean your damage is all cosmetic which is a + and no one is hurt which is the biggest +.

not a fan of the new Z4 look.

When you make a car like hatchback and stationwagan style, it's far from hot.

I have to agree. Just like when Nissan chopped off the 350Z's top and make it a convertible. It just doesn't look right. I did not like the Z4 coupe when I first saw it (I'll preserve my judgement until I see one in person). The long hood/short trunk works well as a classic roadster proportion, but the hood is too long for a coupe IMO. Then again one can argue that it's got the same proportion as a Viper or an SLR.

I got a new bumper, hood, fender, grill and ended up breaking the radiator support. Total cost came out to a bit over $5000. Luckily insurance is paying it all, and the body shop is covering my deductible of 1k. First accident and it feels weird without a car.
Another incident with VDC turned off.

Why do you guys keep turning it off?!

Glad you are okay though. Car can be fixed. There is no reason to turn VDC off folks. It has enough play to allow you to have fun as well. I have 19x9.5 wheels in the back with 275x30s and I don't have issues still. If your vdc kicks in means your pushin the car too hard for daily driving period.

I think it's ok to turn of VDC if you are going to be re-spon-si-ble. First thing that came to mind while reading the first post was "man, sounds like someone was being a little reckless with the VDC off." Then I read about power sliding around on 35mph turns @ 80, etc, and it all fell into place.

I've hit a thin sheet of water on a sunny day in a blind turn before and VDC has saved my a$$. Responsible or not, there are always unforseen circumstances.

There are always exceptions. Radiation is bad for you, unless you are trying to kill cancer.

When you have a loaded gun, you have to be careful, period. And even with the safety on, unforseen events can happen and you could die. Still, when the saftey if off, it requires a different level of responsibility.

Get it?

I didn't/am not not saying driving with VDC off is SAFE, or SAFER than with it on. In fact, I was supporting the fact that it is LESS safe to drive with VDC off than on.

My point is/was, driving with VDC off requires you to be more responsible than with it on. If you're determined to slide and hit a tree, you can do so with VDC on or off.

In loving memory of the S.A.T.: VDC is to CAR as SAFETY is to GUN.

Sorry to hear that, papagz...... Hope they fix her up good as new.

I don't understand what's wrong with the shop paying your deductible. How is that illegal?

That's done here too and as far as I know, it's legal.

G/L with repairs

The shop is not going to pay your deductible unless they can get the money somewhere else. That somewhere else is from over-charging the insurance company for the repair. That's called insurance fraud. Anybody who believes a company is going to give you a thousand dollar break on a job just because you're a nice guy, or they're nice guys, needs to get a clue.
