Oh no! Accident...baby is out for a while <pics>

I was making a left turn about week and a half ago back end slid out and I caught it but just as I caught the slide must have slipped on something and I ended up hitting a car waiting at a red light. I felt so stupid and I miss my baby already. Guy I hit was pretty cool and I appreciated that alot. Here are some pics from what happened. I got a new bumper, hood, fender, grill and ended up breaking the radiator support. Total cost came out to a bit over $5000. Luckily insurance is paying it all, and the body shop is covering my deductible of 1k. First accident and it feels weird without a car.

Sorry to hear about your accident.

So your body shop is milking an extra $1k out of the insurance co, to cover you? You know them personally or something?

If the bodyshop is helping you out, I wouldn't publically talk about it if I were you. It's insurance fraud, and both you and the bodyshop can get into a lot of trouble doing it (and it doesn't really help that you're posting pictures of your car that makes it easy to recognize your car).

But otherwise, make sure they check the inner side of your rims and make sure there's no bend. And ask for a wheel alignment after your car gets fixed.

theyre not doing anything illegal form what I know. there are millions of silver G35's in the US. there are no plates or anything exposed. anyways. bodyshop guy is real nice and is willing to help me out. i am def getting a wheel alignment and the wheels are fine luckily.

VDC wasn't on. its a bad habit. every time I get in the car first instict is to turn it of. VDC kicks in wayy to early for me. just going down my hill it starts to kick in and its only a slight sway to the left. so i turn it on cuz it scares me when it randomly kicks in. its sad that happened.

That's strange. I've taken the curve on the hill by my house at 80mph, and it's only rated 35mph. (It's basically a sweeping 90 degree turn). I did this with the VDC still on, and I still managed to bust the rear end loose, and power slide through the turn.

(This was by accident by the way... Scared the crap out of me, as I thought I was going to roll off the cliff , but thankfully I didn't even exit my lane )

thats really weird....are you on stock wheels and tires?
i think its the rims 19x10 in the rear that may throw it off on a turn a bit...could i be wrong? but it hurts so much to see my baby sitting there in the body shop so dirty....do body shops usually detail the car b4 the return it?

That sucks Georgio,

Sorry to see that man, reminds me of when I crashed my baby. Don't let it get you down though, you'll get her back good as new in no time.

I highly doubt the body shop will detail your car, unless you tell them to. I think you have to come back a week later after the paint dries though.

Goodluck man!

thanks guys appreciate it all. body shop has all the parts in already and painting has started. supposedly another week until everythning is done. only positive thing that came out of this is that my car may become a SEMA show car. i have some prospective sponsorships that hopefully may work out.

Mike, thanks man appreciate it. My bad on that whole deal with the wheels and not getting back to you. I got so sidetracked with school that everything went crazy. Next week I'm done with finals so if your still interested in wheels let me know. Got some sick deals going on some right now. Give me sizes and min/max offsets for your car and ill def see if I can set something up.
accidents suck!!
