Seems like Falken are pretty decent tires.

Should I spend the extra $400 and buy the stock tires or something better? Will I notice a big difference?

the treadwear rating on the 19' potenza RE050a's is 140...140 is lower than any other tire brand that can compare to them...Go with another company because you will need to replace your tires every 11-13k miles and they are 260 front 280 rear from tirerack..Nitto NT555's are good tires that are competitively priced..check them out

My experiences with Falken are great. Only thing I've ever noticed is an increased road noise at-speed versus the more expensive brands.

For the record, my experiences with Falken are mostly with the ZIEX ZE-502's (tread similar to the FK-451).

Are the Falken's noisier than the OEM Bridgestones (RE050a)?

Wow...good find! $189 for a 280 rated H.P. tire?! I wonder if anyone has these....can't believe the price! I'm in the market for a 245/40-19 tire myself.

FWIW, roadwaywholesaletire has the RE050s for a little less than tirerack.

January Issue Car and Driver .....

.....tested 12 High Performance tires.
Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's came in first overall.
In addition to accumulating the most points they got exceptionally high praise for traction and forgivness inthe wet.
They were not the most expensive and it was noted their treadwear was a very good 280.
Also, the Bridgestones most of us have were like 10th on the list.
Do they make the Goodyears in our size ...... ?Beat's me. If anyone checks I'd like to know. My 06 Coupe is far from needing rubber but I'd definitely give the Goodyears a shot based on the article.
BTW, they have a wicked tread pattern, too!
Anyone wanting to read the article PM me and I'll dig it out .
Hope this helps.

The Goodyears are not available in direct replacement sizes for the 19" wheels. There is a 245/40-19 for the rear, but the closest you can get for the front is a 225/35-19. The good thing is that the front tire is only .1" larger in diameter than our stock front and the rear is only .2" smaller in diameter. Those two should work great and would probably ride better than the Bridgestones and last longer, too.

If I really wanted to spend the dough I'd get those Goodyear F1's...

If I wanted to spend less but get tires very similar performance wise to OEM I'd go with some Toyo's T1R's.

What's wrong with the Toyo T1R? It's the update of the T1S.
