OEM 19" tires $370 each??

Mine burned out in 11,000 miles, is this normal? I need 4 new tires and my dealer wants $1500.

Is there anywhere else I can buy them cheaper?

LOL.....aren't 19's great...LOL
Ok more bad news for you....better make sure that you find a GOOD place to mount your new tires. Most places old machines don't handle 19" wheels. I found out the hard way and had to go through hell getting them fixed. Tirerack is problably your best bet.

Depends on what brand you're looking for? Bridgestone Potenza or the ones that came with car costs around $300. So do the math and it comes out that $1500 is a bit more expensive then going to a Bridgestone dealer. There are better handling tires out there that costs a little bit lower than Potenza. Do a search on this forum cuz I know there was a reports in regards to tires.

If your going to get the OEM tires (Bridgestone Potenza RE050A), I got mine at Tirerack for $260 for the fronts and $280 for the rears. Dealerships are usually more expensive. There might be cheaper places to find them but I don't know of any and they probably won't be that much cheaper.

11k miles and u need new tires already? have you done any burn outs on it?

that's very expensive for tires. I guess if that happens on my car, I am going to sell them and get nice some customer wheels.

Thanks for the tips guys.

$280 is cheaper, but still pretty expensive if I have to buy a new set every year.

Its an automatic, so I haven't done any burn outs. I do drive fast once in a while, but isn't that the point of buying a fast car?

you can get a set of 20" rims with tires for less than that.

and 20" tires are cheaper for the most part than 19s.

Go figure.

it is normal for the RE050a to last around 12k. all review on tire rack list them to last about that long. It also depends on the roads and driving conditions. ALSO... dont forget these babies have a threadwear of only 140 so how long you want them to last.

NYC roads are horrible and my tires look like crap at 10k.

Where do you live? There are lots of places where you can get 19" tires for less than that.
The Bridgestone’s are great tires but you can get Nitto, Kumho, etc that are just about as good for quite a bit less. It depends on how hard you drive your car and what you are trying to get out of it.
I have owned almost every major Z rated tire out there and there is not that big of a difference in the $$$ ones under street driving conditions unless you are really pushing your car. Most of them will not last too long but 11,000 is pretty low you might want to check your pressure more often and get an alignment. I typically get about 12,000 to 15,000 on a set and I drive pretty hard.
Look on Tirerack.com and read some reviews that people leave. You can always change size a little if needed. You can get a 235/XX in the front and 255/XX in rear if that opens your options up to more choices. They will fit without a problem.
If you have a Discount Tire near you and you have a good idea of what you want they will match just about any price you can find on wheels and/or tires. I got my last set of 245/35/20 Nitto 555's from them for $300 less than retail from them just by shopping around and they saved me ~35% on my wheels.

I would highly recomend these tires. I had them on my previous car and these get very sticky very quick... and very grippy. Great summer / rain tires

Went threw the same deal, 12k and my tires were DONE, On a scale of 1-10 I drive a 5-7 everywhere I go. (mods haven't helped) My Pilot sports were 280/310 each

Good tires tho, But I wish I got toyo, yoko or faulken instead, it woulda been cheaper too.

Houston driver here. 12k miles on the clock and my tires (at least the fronts) can probably go another 5k. The rears look like they could go about another 7k.

I dunno. I do drive fast. 80+ but it's mostly on I45 and 59. I don't do a lot of city driving so I don't turn all too much. Maybe that's why mine are lasting so long.

It's weird. With 225/40 and 245/40 you don't have too many choices, but if you go 225/40 and 255/35 (M3 size tires) you have a bizillion choices. And even more so if you go 245/35 and 275/35.

Just blew out 1 tire hitting a metal bar sticking out of the road coming off the freeway a couple days ago. Asked Cerritos Infiniti how much it would cost to get a new tire, they said $360. I ended up getting a new rear from tirerack.com for $280 plus $30 shipping. Going to have Infiniti mount/install it for $24.95. I have 6.5K miles on my car, do you guys think it's OK that I'm just buying this 1 tire? The tread on my other tires look great. Thanks.

I usually try to stay away from whatever original tires came with the car since they usually are overpriced.
