I dunno about the rest of you, but I don't find anything objectionable about the key / remote. Personally, I hate keys that have the remote built in, it's too bulky. I'd rather have them separate like it is. Besides, If I'm gonna be away from the car for a while and not interested in carrying keys, I have the wallet key, and just leave the remote etc. in the car.

this looks pretty cool... it's just too bad it doesn't work with our transponder system

Re: G35 Key Design
I hate how when you have the key in the ignition and when you drive the remote hits the dash and starts to slowly chip the paint near the keyhole away. Also I would have rather they put the keyhole on the left side of the steering column but that is DEFINATLY not enough for me to complain about. I love my G!

Re: G35 Key Design
malx, are you a previous Porsche driver or something (regarding your suggestion of ignition on the left)? My problem with the remote keyless entry is that it is the same lame-*** keyless entry setup that Chrysler and GM use for most of their cars. All these other companies (VW/Audi/BMW/Mercedes/Lexus/etc.) have cool all-in-one keys...we have cool cars, why can't we have a cool key to match? And I hate it when I'm driving and the remote is dangling on the key-ring....so lame...definitely not a driver's key.
Re: G35 Key Design
i defiantely agree with Elussive...the key looks extremely cheap and doesn't fit the car...it's funny how even the VW beetle even has a switchblade key... something must be done about this problem!

That's the key for the M45- not a key cover. You stick the smaller plastic end into the ignition and turn... no metal key. It works on the proximity of the chip, kind of like the FX remote, except that you don't even put the key in... just keep it in your pocket and turn the "start" ****. Gotta love that tech package.
