2006 Facelift and a Pink Slip!
2006 Facelift and a Pink Slip!
Good News:
Finally got my car back after several weeks in the shop. I had a minor accident busting a headlight and messing up my front bumper. Thanks to ISpecialistChad I upgraded to both the 2006 headlights and facsia. Best purchase of my life since the car simply looks beautiful.
Bad News:
2 hours before picking up my car I got the news that I was a victim of the recent downturn in the domestic automotive industry. Worst thing is . . . there was nothing I could have done better. With outstanding performance reviews I was simply a victim of circumstances. Really I'm happy since I didn't beleive in my company . . . but I am now scared I may have to sell my G35!!
Plea:
I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering from MIT (2005). I was the team manager for the MIT Formula SAE racing team and have previous experience with several top automakers (domestic and foreign). If you know of any available positions I would appreicate the heads up. My resume is ready and I want to keep my babygurl. This has been a great forum and I hope to stay involved.
Cheers

sorry to hear about the job, man. luckily, engineers are in high demand, and you probably wont be out of work for too long if you do end up getting laid off.
do the 06 headlights drop right in, or is there a lot of modification taht is required?

Hey all, thanks for the kind words. 06 Headlights drop right in you need to source the new bulbs but via ebay but they are relatively cheap and worth it.
P Diddy you have IM.

Sorry to hear about the layoff at your company. With your educational background, you should not have any problems finding a Mechanical Engineering job.
I work for Lockheed Martin in NJ, as a Mechanical Engineer, I know our company is hiring, check out this website for job listings around the country, yes, our company is BIG!

Once again, good luck!

Hey, you're young and sound optimistic, you'll do good with your specialty, you won't be unemployed long IMO! Damn, I always wanted to work for Lockheed/Martin out here Sandia, but never got to!

I never asked for pity. But as it turns out there are some wise knowledgable people on this board (If you can beleive it) who I look up to. If I might find a connection - all the better. Otherwise, dont worry yourself.
I apologize. Its been a long night and I felt this needed to be posted. Lock the thread if you like I don't care.

Joe, hope you get a great job, I'm sure you will with your impressive resume.
Maybe this is a boon, and you'll end up selling your G35 for an F430 or 911 turbo. Ok, I'm just saying that cause I want those cars...
If my fledgling company wasn't... well.. fledgling (and I wasn't my own engineering dept), I'd be all over you. Just thought I'd let you know. Very nice looking car btw. Envious of the 06 lights.
