Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

Good luck with the move......but unfortunatly driving a G on the streets of Hollywood will be a very humbling experiance. It is my opinion, having visited Hollywood a dozen times, that if you want to even turn one head with your car, you have to spend AT LEAST $100,000. But the G is still cool for the rest of us poor people.

Yep Cali has alot of stuff here. Funny thing is that I want to move out of Cali and go to NYC. I never been there before. It looks interesting, but unfortunately I can't affort the cost of living there.

Wreck stay in Cali. The winters here suck and there's 10x more traffic.

Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

Get a 4x4 for the winter, and use your G the rest of the year.

Besides, winter without snow is like spaghetti without sauce.

And where in CA do you think there is 10 times less traffic than here? Are you serious about that? I think CA has 10 times the amount of traffic of NY.

Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

wreck,

The cost of living in the city is very high for sure, but you can live in the suburbs for MUCH less. I live 20 minutes north of NYC, so I have the best of both worlds- access to the city and reasonable living expenses. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

Yes the cost of living in LA is more than NY. But the cost of living in NYC is just as expensive. I have lived / been in both places. NYC has 10x the ammount of traffic. There is an accident on every highway in every surronding borough of NYC every morning. And NYC has about 4x the ammount of people than the LA Metro and Orange County area. You have never seen traffic until you drive from Stated Island, across the city, through Queens and out on the Long Island Expressway on your way to the Hamptons. That's like a 10hour drive that's only like 150-200 miles because its traffic the whole way. In the middle of the night I can drive from my house to The Bronx in 30 minutes exactly but during the day it takes me an hour and 15 minutes.

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

I don't know about that, Joey.

I have lived in the NY metro area my entire life, and I've also spent quite a bit of time in CA (specifically, the LA area) and I think that the traffic is MUCH worse in LA than NY.

Isn't LA known for their traffic congestion? Isn't that the reason people were shooting each other on the highways there for the last few years?

Re: MOVING TO HOLLYWOOD WITH G

I gotta jump in here. I moved from NY (Long Island) to Cali back in 2000... now living in the Bay Area, and as far as traffic goes between both spots, it is the same... However, in Cali, it never rains (alright, maybe 10 times a year), there is no snow (except in the mountains) and there are tons of highways to let loose with the car... I love going from 70 to 120 mph on a nice fast windy highway (280 here in the Bay Area)... Sick...

Unfortunately, I will move back to NY in a year or two (sob, sob...), where the weather is either hot and humid, or cold and rainy except for June and September... But at least they got amazing food in NY and Manhattan....

Life is always about plus's and minus's.... NY is an awesome place to visit if you have never been there. My 2 cents...
