My front bumper attacked by flying sheetrock :(

So ill keep this story relatively short. I was driving down a main road with 4 lanes (2 for each side) and im following behind a pick up truck about 20 ft back. Im north bound and southbound is all bumper to bumper traffic. Im in the left lane with cars to my right, all of a sudden a big piece of sheetrock (prob a 8x8 piece) comes flying up from the road (the tires of the pick up kicked it up) and the wind took it like a sail. Now we going about 40 mph and i got cars on both sides of me so theirs no dodging this. Before I could comprend the situation I head "smack!" as it connect with my bumper and sits their like a friggin said in the wind. I slow down to about 10mph and it falls down and goes under my car. I pull off in a parking lot only to see my front bumper scraped and scratched to hell. Nothing cracked just a mess of deep scratches on the lip the bumper and one of the eyelids. I tried polishing compound and scratch X with no real luck.

My options?

repaint the bumper and clear bra it?

buy a kuruma bumper and get it painted?

what would you do? Im the kinda of person when I need to fix stuff I like to improve it. When I had my IS300 my sister backed into the corner of my front bumper breaking one of the mounts and I ended up getting a full body kit becuase of it

Im open to opinions, thanks for reading.

Damn matt, that sucks!!

Oh, btw, you said you were going 4mph, but I assume you meant 40?

I would just go with a new bumper if your only resort is to respray (aka if normal methods won't take the scratches out)

Good luck man...

I agree. Sheet rock isn't that hard and unless there are gouges rather than scratches in your bumper, they'll be able to buff it out for you in about ten minutes. It shouldn't be a big deal.
