^ so if you drive wearing a mask? (Really dark tint would make a better question, but the mask is funnier to depict)

they recently installed photo radar on our freeways... my roommate and i went in on a can and sprayed our plates. Between Jan 20th and next week they are only giving away warnings, so we've both tried to rack up as many tickets as possible... My roommate (Pathfinder) has gotten 4 or 5 warnings and I have gotten 0. Don't know why but it's still safe not to speed near them...

Interesting. I pulled up on a red light today and stopped, but the front of my car passed the line. I saw the camera flash, but I wasn't sure if it was triggered by me, or this other car making a left turn. Pretty sure it was me because the angle was kinda weird if it was trying to take a pix of the car making a left. Anyway, I never went through the intersection. I think they need to also have a second pix of you actually in the intersection, and a picture of your rear plate...but I may be mistaken...wonder if I'll get a tix...

you won't get a ticket for that. I just finished traffic school last saturday. I asked the traffic school teacher the same situation and he said you won't get a ticket.

Last time I checked, a picture is not a legal form of positive identification. If it were, that means I should be able to open a bank account with nothing but my car registration and a picture of my face.

What if I have an identicle twin? Burdon of proof is on the prosecution.

besides... You have a constitutional right to bear witness. The camera can't exactly testify against you. I don't mind redlight cameras (so long as they aren't tuned to have very short yellows). But I can't stand photo radar. Those things are so inaccurate. I don't care what people say. There were times I've driven past one of those vans, and my speedometer was reading a constant value, and the electronic display kept jumping +- 10mph in each direction of my actual speed.

I've also seen those radar trailers lock onto a car going in the other direction, and tell me I was going 50+mph, when I was only going 35.

Wait..... do those radar trailers take photos and ticket you?!?
I mean, I would assume not, b/c everytime I see one I play a game (a safe game) of seeing how high I can make it go. Flashing numbers are fun.

Those cameras are usually closer to video cameras than they are a regular camera. If you really want to test it take your digital camera or video cam and see if it gets your plate. The crappy spray stuff doesn't work. There are many plate covers that do work, but you can get pulled over for having one because those often black out your plate completely from most angles, which is illegal.

They tried putting them on the highway here in Illinois but they apparently pissed off some lawyer that has been able to put a stop on them.
