I say only 50 mph, because any speed ABOVE that, and I would start to lose the rear. This is going in a straight line down the interstate. What would happen is any speed above that and the rear would start to sway to the right or the left....take your pick...it really just depended on which tire was losing traction first. This was also using a very steady foot accelerating, so massive acceleration at this juncture was not the issue.
Overall, they performed pretty well for beginning blizzard conditions with no good plowing yet to have been done....I was hoping the tire could handle 65 mph in a straigt line of snow, but 50 seemed to be the limit. I give them an 8.5

You shouldn't drive that fast in snow. Sure, you might be able to get up to that speed and keep the car straight at that speed, but even if you have great snow tires, or a 4x4... you're still not going to be able to stop well in an emergency situation. Always expect the unexpected when driving in snow.

with snow tires RWD is no problem. My G even gets to run in ice races (timed, not head to head style)...does a better job than most of you might think. The only problem, as stated earlier, clearance is not all that great. Oh, and in the winter small rattles become louder and more annoying rattles. Other than that, the G's a helluva winter car.

blizzaks going on their 3rd season...about 30-40% tread left...i was able to drive in the snow no problem, about 4-6" on the ground. dead stops on a hill were impossible though, maybe cos i was on ice too, dunno, but brand new those ws-50's can handle anything, i was plowing around 8" of unplowed snow easily up and down the steep hills of westchester when they were new...woke up 5 am sunday morning to about a foot and a half of snow and went snowboarding!
