G35 shuts down

i drive an 04 6MT. i was racing a buddy (300zx) after work the other day. i was well ahead of him and i had just hit 90mph when i had to slow down for a light up ahead, so i took it out of gear to coast to the light in hopes that it would go green, and when i did the rpm's dropped and the car shut off. i threw it back into gear to get it started again. i later tried this on some back roads and it does it every time i get above 80mph or so. i know this isn't normal. does anyone know why this happens and what to do to fix it?

We had a disscussion about this which is going on for few days now. You could look in that, but the best thing would be not to put in N when going over 80. Dont Rev that much that your engine just shuts down. Which mods do you have in ur G? Dont worry, ur not the only one with this problem.

+1 ?

CAI's are notorious for causing this problem, the solution is a heat shield in front of the filter...

+1 Had the same thing with Stillen CAI - MAF went crazy because of additional air turbulence in its area. After switching to K&N in stock airbox the problem is gone.
