Would you ever buy an OEM spoiler?

There's a company in Edmonton where I can buy a coupe OEM spoiler, factory color painted (obsidian black....kinda hard not to match black, lol) for $140 shipped.

Normally I wouldn't consider, but it's in Edmonton (which is like 2hrs from me), but I just don't know. Part of me says don't do it - hell, Infiniti charges almost 900 for the spoiler, so how good can an OEM be for $120 (and 20shipping).........but part me of wonders, 'well, maybe it's like topspeed or strup headers - 1-1 copies of Nismo, at 1/2-2/3 the price)

Until I got into moding my car, i've always thought you get what you pay for

Not always true round these parts.

I'd be careful about it tho.. infiniti is a rip on oem parts... they want 900$ a rim for 19's

i think it's a crap shot...... remember, infiniti themselves gets their "OEM parts" from somewhere else and charge you the premium b/c of the warr issue....... i bought mine from a place in florida for $140 with paint and shipped... it looks great and you can't tell the difference... the only downside is that the paint is about a 9.5/10 match..... only in certain light you can tell the color difference, but we're all **** about our cars, normal people won't tell at all....... so you do get what you pay for, but i don't think $900 is worth it at all.....

What color is your car? I've heard of even professional bodyshops having trouble perfectly matching colors like IP? Mine is obsidian black, and, really, black is pretty much black, haha.

i bought an aftermarket spoiler and had nothing but trouble with the LED's. it is a B1TCH to fix and costs a lot of $$$...more than what the spoiler is worth.

You'd be surprised how much difference there can be in black!

i think the coupe looks awsome with the OEM spoiler on it. Not a huge fan of wingless look. I would say go for it and get it. That is a great deal, exspecaily if the dealership is charging 900 Damn

matching color is easy, however 3rd party LEDs tend to go out real fast, next thing you know your spoiler looks messed up.

No way that's an OEM spoiler for $140. Gotta be a replica. Many dealerships sell replica spoilers rather than OEM because they're not easy to get and cost a fortune. Many places claim to have "OEM" spoilers but are really selling OEM-style replicas. Call up you local Infiniti dealer and ask them that specific question. Check with Sewell or Grubbs or Scottsdale or Riverside or Gwinett. They likely tell you the same. Nothing against replicas. I have a replica spoiler on my '06 and the quality and fitment are perfect. It was a little more than half the price of the OEM spoiler.

color of my car is dg...... black is black, but i think there's a tint or hue to it that distinguish black from other black.......personally, i love the wing look, you'll get a 50/50 mix on this forum.... i think the g looks great either way..... however, thi issue with the led, i've been lucky and not have a single problem, not to say that you won't i hear that there's more problem then not..... good luck!

All colors are hard to match.

In my opinion and experience... AND ANALNESS of course, I have NEVER seen a perfect match unless you paint it all at once or you get it prepainted from the dealer like front lips or splash guards.

spend the extra money and get the replica one off infiniti-parts.com for like $249. Paint will match perfectly and dealerships buy from this site dealership as well. Might as well pay money for a better piece of mind about the product. And the price is still only a fraction of what an OEM will cost from the dealer.

FX designs or something? i heard their spoilers are pretty lame years ago. hearsay, but still, when you hear it too many times, you start to believe.

not sure if they improved or not or got better models for their homepage.
