100k miles
#17
alright i consider myself to drive an average amount... i got an 04 in may of 04 and it has 18,400 miles on it. I doubt that I will personally hit 100k in this car. I will be in college for the next 6 years (probably have the car that amount of time) and at school i probably wont drive the car that much. My sister has an 04 g35 thats a month older than mine with 4k miles on it or something... and thats all from driving home from school and back.. she doesnt put miles on it at school.

At 100k you’re suppose to replace a bunch of crap (belts and spark plugs among other things). It’s in the manual... You will also probably run into replacing things like alternators and etc as they go bad. These are parts that are only made to go 100k, but the engine itself should go past 200k. I would just hope at 100k you wouldn't have a car payment to deal with, so repairs wouldn't hurt that much beyond the inconvenience. Once you get through the first round of repairs the car should be able to go another 100k. My car is at 30k miles and part of me wouldn't mind driving it well over 100k and the other part would like to offload it before 60k miles

Sometimes you have to drive that far to get to work and back; it adds up very quickly. For those of those of you reaching 100K miles, have you noticed any decrease in performance or smoothness in the driving? Any significant wearing on the engine? If you were to install a TT on the car, do you think it'd still last 200K miles? (conservative driving, of course... being able to push it once in a while, but not redlining 80 percent of the time).
