It depends on the bottled booster that you buy. There are some great scientific tests of various octane boosters on the web, and some off-the-shelf bottles were shown to significantly raise octane.

Someone already posted the correct response...these points are basis points...just like when people talk about changes in the stock market.

However, the real question is this...why on earth would you think our cars need more octane? Are you either heavily modded or FIed? Even in my BPU supra I ran pump 93 through her everyday and that was a DD with 450hp. On those cars people would run something like 104 to run a bit cooler while on more boost and be able to make much more power, safer.
