Help with 350Z intake installation

I've ordered a Borla exhaust, a stillen intake and the 350Z intake for my G35 Coupe. I've searched the forums and I've found many useful info posts, but I need some assistance on installing the 350Z intake tube. If anyone can assist it will be greatly appreciated.

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

Chrisg35c, It's cake bro. I've just done this myself. Loosen the 2 large clamps, one at the throttle body, the other at the mass airflow sensor. Remove the 10mm bolt holding the stock tube on (located on the left side of the tube about half way).
Disconnect the black rubber vent hose from the top of the stock tube. Wiggle both ends loose and carefully remove the stock tube. There is an expansion/noise chamber on bottom of the stock tube making it difficult to remove. Be patient.
Transfer the large clamps to the Z tube, and install the black vent tube now because it mounts on the bottom of the Z tube. Wiggle the new tube back on and reinstall the 10mm hold down bolt. Tighten down the large clamps. Don't forget they're clamping plastic and aluminum. (not too tight). Enjoy.

Thanks gsedanman, do you have the Stillen high flow intake also? I assume I do this after installing the Stillen intake?

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

Chris,
What is the part number for the 350 Z intake/tube?
I am trying to combine the Stillen hi-flow intake, Crawford plenum and the 350 Z intake/tube. I was wondering if anybody has any pics or thoughts on this one.

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

ChrisG35C, No CAI yet. I'm patiently waiting for the K&N to come out, and I believe it should be out soon.
It sounds like Tfasano has this settup tho.---- Borla, with Z pipe and Stillen intake. It would prolly be easier to put the pipe on first, then the Stillen CAI, but Tfasano would know better than me on that one.
I'm installing a Crawford Plenum in the next couple weeks like Dan66 has, so I'll post with pics and impressions ASAP.

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

I am wondering if I can use the first section on the Injen CAI (I have an used one), along with the Stillen hi-flow and the Crawford plenum? Does it look like a feasible project?

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

I plan to do the Borla, Stillen intake and Z pipe this week. I will probably add the Crawford plenum next week. Hopefully I'll get some decent gains !

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

As it turns out, It would be easier to put them both on at the same time, but I put my Hi flow box on before I got my z pipe. I must say that the z pipe makes all the difference. A must have!

This belongs in its own thread, but I fooled around with an '03 M3 the other day and... while he was passing me (ha) I noticed that he sounded like shiot, real wraspy. When we slowed down to talk he said, "your car sounds great."

Re: Help with 350Z intake installation

Where the Z pipe will come in place and how does it look?
Some of forum members already mentioned that the stock 350Z air intake is superior to the stock G35. That will also explain the restrictive intake for the G35 with the corresponding power loss.
