Does anyone have this noise problem everytime you start your engine and when you start to drive off, there's this quick noise and it goes away. It only occurs once after you start the engine and step on the Gas pedal.

 

If this noise only occurs when the outside temperature is cold, many of us have it.

 

Yeah, got that, and only when car is cold.

It sounds like the ABS to me, but my light doesn't come on. Any other ideas?

the ABS check is performed regardless of whether it is cold or hot outside. It occurs everytime you start the car (as far as I know).

Sounds like a weird clicking/grinding noise? It's probably the ABS check, unless you already know what that is, and you're getting something else.

manual describes it, amongst other things.

 

Could be the axle TSB.

 

from what i know, it is the abs actuators or ABS related check that is done after start up. the sound concerned me at first, but every G i've driven has had this sound after startup, kind of sounds like when a loaded spring is released mixed in with some grinding. some where just more noticeable than others. But come to think of it, i don't ever remember hearing it when i was driving my friends Z.
