06 MT -Sport Bumper & sides - why no mud flaps?

Wondering if anyone has info on mud flaps for the new 06 with the "Sport bumper"... and 19" wheels? Asking my dealer and the parts manager says that there are no flaps for this package. Look on the Infiniti site and it shows a coupe with the mud flaps. Problem is, the photo doesn't show enough of the rocker to tell if it's the new one or old one.

I know that on all the earlier models you could fit the mud flaps no matter which package was on the car. I just hate not having them because; 1: the protect the car, 2: they LOOK great.

Anyone got more in-depth info?

The rockers look too different for them to fit perfectly. I wonder if they're so different that the '05s couldn't be modified some. They're urethane, so there's only so much that could be done. I wish I had a better idea, but I haven't seen an '06 in person yet!

Yeah, the rockers are a little different, but I don't see the difference behind the rear wheel. So far I'm being told that there are no 'flaps' to fit the 06 Coupe. (but that they are working on it...)

I hope they REALLY are working on it because I waited a long time to get the 06, thinking that the same mods would be there for it as for the rest.

Ahhhh but what a way to handle a L8life crisis.

Pick up a set and try the rears, then go to a bodyshop and see what they say about the fronts.

Rears definitely fit.. I have them on my 06. Fronts definitely DO NOT fit... the rocker is cut fairly deep right near the front wheel well... no way the normal splash GUARDS are going to fit.

the car looks ok with just the rears.. much better than with neither.

Thanks for the input on the rears guys! I called my dealer yesterday while out riding around. He's going to have me a pair there Tuesday. Seems I remember him saying $71.00 in Laser Red. (Plus I get another 10% customer discount for buying my car there.)

Was looking at the rocker panel today and it is a bit deeper than the 05 and down ones right behind the front wheel. (Not to mention the scalloped in curve running almost the full length.) But hey... rears are better than none at all.

2006 6mt rear pics please!

I'm going to finalize my purchase of an '06 6mt on Monday and I was really dissappointed to find out that they can only put the rear splash guards on the car, they look so kick *** in front;

For those of you that have the rear splash guards on an '06, could you please post some pics;

Just wondering if i should go thru the trouble of trying to hagling with the sales guy to throw them in or wait and get them from g35everything.com;

by the way nice forum, first post, month long lurker....

The splash guards look like a tacked-on afterthought. I wouldn't put them on. They just don't flow with the lines of the car.

Good luck with your upcoming purchase! Personally, I wouldn't worry about haggling with the sales guy over the splash guards... what I would worry about though would be the INSANE "junk fees" that they'll try to add to the sale. For instance, hi-line dealers (IE Infiniti, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Acura, etc) typically will add a "doc fee" that will be in the $595 range. That's nothing but BS from the get go. They'll tell you anything and everything to get away with it, up to the point that it's state law. (Which it may be in some state, where the state allows the dealer to charge it... but not that they HAVE to charge it.)

I made my dealer work from my price backwards. By the time they took off all their junk fees, the end sales price was below invoice. (plus sales tax of course)

As for purchasing the splash guards from the dealer or on-line that's a different story. My dealer offers them to me cheaper than I've seen them anywhere. Plus... as a customer that bought a car there I get an additional 10% off anything and everything, including service. Take the factory car cover for instance. In the Infiniti brochure it's $225 list. Yet on-line I just saw it for $250 list, sale price at $223.50 plus shipping. I can get one for less at the dealer. Same thing for the splash guards. Working with a good dealer can be the best thing you'll ever do. What they offer, as a hi-line dealer, can be worth its weight in gold. Stuff like the discounts is cool, then stuff like free loaner cars for the warranty (G35 sedans at mine). Actually mine gives customers the loaners for LIFE, going well above what the factory offers. They also do free windshield repairs, tire repairs, road service, discounts, and a bunch of other stuff.

I had the same problem with the splash guards on my 06. The fronts didn't fit at all. The rears seemed to fit but the parts guy from Infiniti said that the part # of the rear guards was different for the 06's. That was a month ago and nothing was available in Canada and I'm still waiting. I was surprised that they were actually made here to begin with. Are there any places in the US for them that are a sure fit?
