I'm very up in the air about headers for this car.

It seems like there are very contradictory reviews of different headers in combination with different mods on these cars.

It was so easy with my old Acura CLS:

Guaranteed:

Comptech headers and AEM intake produced max 30-35hp for every single person that put them on.

Comptech exhaust added 1-2 hp and pulleys added in the 5-7hp range.

And that was pretty much it--no ands, ifs or buts about it.

The G is a very different modding beast. It has been very hard to come to a consensus on what will work best.

I think if I went for headers I would likely go for the Stillens--I would never throw a set of cheap headers on any car I own. Cheap headers = expensive problems!

Doesnt MD spacer promise 11-15 hp alone?

Cool

JZ39,
I gained 29 WHP, 221 to 250 on a dynojet, with the set-up below. You should be able to break 20 WHP

Z-tube
Stillen Hi-Flow Airbox
1/2" MD spacer w/ISO Kit
Invidia G200

Be sure to reset the ECU after the mods are done. Then drive the car pretty hard for 5 minutes or so.

P.S.
I did add a KJR LW pulley, but the Dyno showed no gain. The car does seem to pull harder after the pulley install.

Nice gains!

I would be plenty happy with those gains.

I intend to drive the car for the week following the install to give it time to settle in.

Now, I just wish things would start shipping!

Ever think about doing a UTEC or something similar? You could prally extract a good 8-10-12 hp (low estimate) from your car AFTER those mods are on...

Something to think about.........

Im in the process of setting up an N/A project myself. Gonna do Headers, Plenum, intake, tru dual exhaust, pullies, cat-deletes, and UTEC. Im hoping to get some serious gains in WHP over stock. Id be VERY VERY happy if i dynoed around 275ish after all thats on my car...

Well see. Keep me posted and ill do the same. Gluck

I will look into an Altered Atmosphere re-programming once these mods are done.

Once I get the dynos and see where we stand we'll think about that next step.

I think I am out of the headers game since if I was going to do them I should do them at the same time and I just don't have the desire to after reading many of the disappointing threads about most headers.

I think I would rather sink the next money into a set of nice coilovers to enhance the handling and looks of the car instead of the few HP the headers will give me for the money.
