next question is .. where do you find decent hood pins online to purchase? i have a CF hood as well just purchased but not installed yet.

Any of the major performance sites should have them. Intense Motorsports, Performance Nissan, Nopi, etc...

It depends on the hood maker for how the latch is secured. I had a fiberglass hood that gave me no problems, and that is because there was a large metal plate inside the hood that the stock latch mounted to. The plate was large enough and secure enough inside that it would hold it down under most any condition.
