Starting the car - took longer?
Today & yesterday I tried to start the car and it took longer than usual maybe a few milliseconds but yes I can feel it.
1st time:
I turned the key and expected the car to turn on, but it didn't start(It was a cold and rainy day). Started on the 2nd attempt though.
2nd time:
I started the car twice, the second time right before the engine ignited i think. so I got the metallic grinding sound. (Cold and rainy day too)
I've never done this in 6 months of owning the car, and twice this week obviously its not me.

Happened to me also and I prayed it was not the same issue I had before which is when my SS box on the vortech died. You of course will not have that issue but I think it is the rain which did it to me today.
Cloud,
This is the standard response of the fuel injection to you not holding the key on until the car starts. On re-attempt, the car must clear the flooding that you've induced, and get normal feedback to restart proper carburetion for starting, which takes a few secs. Look on the bright side- if you owned an RX-8, what you described would have, on a cold day, resulted in having the car loaded onto a bed and taken to the dealership- no kidding here. They have a prob with this, a TSB letter was sent out before Xmas 04, and still the problem exists. Same phenomenon, but in a finicky rotary.
Solution is to hold the key on until the car starts.
Cheers,
D

Some conditions are conducive to starting, others are not.
My guess is that when your weather changes back to warm and dry, your G's starting will return to normal too.
