that's amazing how many times this happens - did the same thing in my M3 right after i bought it! haha... i did it at an intersection of all places (i konw - STUPID) and luckily nothing happened (to the car or anyone else). all joking aside, everyone should really think twice about turning off the traction control - i still do it a lot but you really need to learn the car first (and then some) before you do that

I wanted to see how bad our cars our with no VDC on, and it was raining. So I turn a turn and gave it gas. I was about to do a 180, but i quickily recovered. Gave me a heart attack in the process also. If there were any car around I woulda been in deep sh#t. Im never turning VDC off again unless the roads are DRY.

Why does everyone think they're Mario Andretti and they don't need VDC? Whats the friggin point of turning it off unless you're at the track??? Its not like we race to and from work or school everyday. C'mon guys...be realistic.

Yeah, live and learn...and pay through the nose for insurance because of it.

All I was trying to do is get a "little" slide action around the corner. I didnt expect the car to do a 180 like that. I have done "little" slides a few times before. Like afropuff says, I need to practice in a big parking lot, cause when I was sliding I froze waiting for the curb to hit, it was like I was in slow motion.

Come on, you've never turned the VDC off to do a nice big smoky burnout!!

VDC off + dry roads + straight line =
VDC off + wet roads + turning =

I think anyone who has ever owned a RWD has gotten ahead of themselves a little too much and did these same things.

I put my G in a small drainage ditch, but it only scraped the lip a little bit.

Everyone I talked to at the time (even though I was quite embarrassed) said that they had done it at one point. Like they said, its better to learn by yourself and only hurting your car instead of hurting someone else.
