any1 think their CD changer is too slow?
since they have a faster CD changer for the 04's.... for those who have a 03.is it that slow????is it that bad???
I have a chioce between a 03 or a 04 G35c...but I'm gonna get a pretty good discount on the 03 so I might just go for it, just worried about the CD changer

It is a bit on the slow side....I guess it takes like 10-15 seconds, at most, to change a CD? It doesn't bother me at all because I just push the CD button and the CD changer does the rest of the work....I just wait for a few seconds in the meantime, it's no big deal.

its pretty slow... but still faster than manually changing a cd in a single disc yourself, so its still an upgrade to me. Its not anything major, just on the slow side.

Don't think it's all that slow really. Especially if you just let it switch on it's own...it buffers the CD while switching so it's seamless - no delay at all.

jaxxx, if you really want to save some money, then go with an 03. But if you are buying the car, just remember that when it's time to sell, it will be worth a little more being an 04.

Hi:
When I first tried it, the car was parked and it seemed too slow to me. But when driving, the time interval passes quickly and it's OK.
I just wish we could program each CD independently and with memory. At present you can only program the playing CD or all CDs to be played randomly.
Only way I can think of to make a specific CD play from begenning to end while "All Random" is selected is to re-record the CD as one large single file and burn it to a back up CD. I guess this would require running XP as your OS due to the file size limitations of Win 98 and ME? I have not tried it but it should work.

Re: any1 think their CD changer is too slow?
Why the hell don't car CD players have a memory buffer?? I can buy any portable disc player with 30 seconds of memory for about 100 bucks. If they put even 20 seconds of buffer in a car CD radio, then that would easily cover the CD change.

Re: any1 think their CD changer is too slow?
it's not too bad, but if you're like me and forget where the CD you want to hear is at then it seems slow.
1- no, 2- nope, 3- no that's not it, 4- oh there it is...

Re: any1 think their CD changer is too slow?
Our CD changer DOES have a memory buffer, or at least mine does. I can hear it changing the CD in the last 20 seconds of the CD, so as soon as the song is over it starts to play the next CD.

jaxx
realistically speaking, the cd changers speed shouldn't be the deciding piont between an 03 and 04
03 will be cheaper.
04 will have higher value since newer (won't matter if leasing), will have worked out some minor bugs, will have tire pressure monitor (though nothing to rave about).
