Problem with VDC going off.

Just wonder if anyone else has run into this issue. This just started happening last week.
When I go around an onramp or offramp, going at a mild but not very fast speed (making a right sweeping turn, putting pressure on the left side) VDC will kick in a couple "bursts" for a solid second or two. There was no ice, no snow, no water, and no slippage that I could detect. It caught me completly by suprise, and gave me a little scare.
I still have my winters on, but I've never had a problem in two seasons of use:
Blizzak LM22's 225/50VR-17 & 235/50VR-17 on ASA JH3's 17x7.5.
Anyone else run into this issue?
I'll most likely have to bring her in, but I thought I see if somebody knows what is going on. And yes, I know the limits when VDC will kick in pretty well, and I'm sure there was no slipping going on.

I would suspect that after two seasons of use the rear tires are worn down more than the front tires, causing them to be close to the same circumference. Since the computer expects a differential between the front and rear rotation, it interprets the similar rotation speed as an indication that something is wrong.
I have found that when I run my autocross tires on the street, front and rear are the same size, the computer intervenes quite easily in a corner, even at low speed.

Hmm, worth checking, thanks. I checked the tire pressure all around, and checked the tire for anything stuck in the treads....but I will see how much tread life is left on the rears later today.
Mine has operated that way from Day One, which is why I don't care for the system. While I think it's very possible that my rear tires have some wear (2100 miles, mostly with VDC off
), they weren't always that way. The VDC, on the other hand, has always been overzealous.

that's a problem? I thought it was normal behaviour
what's ur mileage?
my garage told me that it's normal while the engine is still being broken in...
I had that problem up until my second service
and after that.. I'm fine

It happens to me too. Only on right handers though not speeding, dry conditions, no issues with tire pressure wear, and not anywhere close to the limit. It is very intermittent so there's no way to replicate.
i know .. it has to do with your suspension.. u can look under the rear of your car and check to see if your trailing arms are bent.. definitly a suspension problem .. my g/f fell alseep driving one night and the car drifted to the left .. the 2 driver side wheels went up onto the bottom of the divider.. which messed up 2 rims and bent my trailing arms.. it could also be your rims*

I get this driving on a plain clear dry rode exiting off the 405 to howard hughes parkway on the turn vearing to the right. I take the exit at like maybe 55 and put a little pressure on the left cause I can plenty of space before the light... and my VDC kicks in for a second then I auto adjust by instinct... It's been mentioned on Car & Driver and by many owners like us. the VDC is just hyper sensitive. Its annoying... but I'd never give it up.
edit: Its a descently lengthy exit before the light from the fwy for those not from LA...

Regardless, I'm just glad that it's never happened when it's been wet...
