Snow Tire Package's?
Hey!!!!
Has anyone bought snow's for their GC?
I Live in Boston, and it snow occassionally (OK alot)
Tirerack.com doesnt have packages yet b/c of the different tire sizes (front/back)......any suggestions? Thanx

Actually, I thought Tire Rack DID have packages available, you just had to call to get them (they're listed in the ads as "call").
I'm curious to know if anyone's gotten them myself, and how much they cost, because I live in NE Pennsylvania - and it snows quite a bit here too!

I did call em.
The salesman said they had a make-shift package for last winter.....but the prob was different speed ratings from the front to back, soemthing they dont like to do. He told me to call back mid september for this years availability. We'll see i guess

I had that same problem, but you can manipulate the TireRack system to sell you snow tires. Go to TireRack.com and use the "Shop for Wheels" category. Under "Shop for Wheels", choose 'Infiniti' and '2003 (duh), and then select your model G35 Coupe. You will then be taken to the wheel menu. TireRack only has 9 available rims to choose from, so select a set of 17" rims that you like (regardless of whether you have the 6-speed or 5A and/or Performance Package...for snow tires you want 17"). I like the Sport Edition Fox 5...click on it and then click on "Add To Cart & Shop For Tires". If you are not ready to buy, then click on the link displaying the Suggested Tire Size, which should be "245/45-17". You will then be taken to a list of check boxes for your tire preferences. In the "All-Season Passenger Tires" category, check the "Winter Only" box and click "GO" at the bottom. This will give you three snow tires to choose from (Bridgestone, Pirelli, and Dunlop) and you're all set for your Winter Wheel & Tire Package. I only have two concerns using this system: The first is that the automated system wants you to get 245mm tires all around...the G35C never offers 245 tires up front...I don't know how this will affect safety and performance. My second concern is that the suggested of 245/45 tires are a bit wide and a bit low-profile for snow tires. Sorry if this was long.

I got a snow tire package from the Tirerack last year. Everything worked out fine. The tires are Bridgestone Blizzak LM-22 size 225/50VR17 for the front and 235-50HR17 for the rear. The Tirerack said that the combination of H in the back and V in the front would not be an issue for winter tires when you are, in theory, not going above H rated speeds for a sustained period of time.
The wheels are ASA KA3 size 17x7.5 5-114 ET35 (bright satin, im my case).
This combination maintains the same overall size as the original 18" wheels/tires.

Is it wise to purchase the 17 inch Infiniti wheels and throw snows on them to replace my 18's in the winter?
Also, can I use 20" FX45 wheels on my 6spd coupe? I found a few sets pretty cheap around here and there's a set on Ebay right now.

DonP....What did that whole setup run you?? I think I'm gonna do the same thing...Any pics you can post?? No prob with 17" over the Brembo's??

xing you are correct, many 17" rims will not fit over the brembos, and some 18's dont either

But at the TireRack web site, they have a few 17" rims to choose from, even when you choose G35C 6-Speed. How could they give you suggested rims that don't fit over the Brembos? I'm assuming that all the available rims that TireRack gives you, fit over the Brembos fine, since you can only choose from 9 different rims. =(

i'll tell you why Mr.Elussive, because they have to put tires on thousands of different car models/types, i dont think they have time for such small details as Brembos, for their website... thats just my opinion, hopefully i am wrong though

Actually Rambo, when I called, Jim said another guy in sales had a G35c with the Brembros, and the techs at tire rack had taken pics and measured rim/tire clearance. He said they should have a package that will fit real soon.....which makes no difference to me really cuz I dont have the em. I thought they were very helpful, and hell, you cant beat their package prices!
