The only complaints I've heard about the fuel filler hose is the pressure return portion of it not working properly so that people try to fill up and the pump keeps shutting off every few seconds due to a lack of pressure being returned into the fuel pump.
This happens to me every time i go for gas, I always go to the same place I assumed their pumps were screwed up. Shouldnt I have gotten something in the mail about this? :/

The thing with the gas pump filling problem is not a Recall. It's just a TSB that they will fix for you at no cost to you if you bring the car in(I think only when it's under warranty is it at no-cost to you).

Usually a recall is safety related, and I think they only send you a thing in the mail if it's a critical issue. This recall for the fuel filler hose was listed as a voluntary recall.

Maybe this is the reason I go threw gas so quickly

(looks at A:F ratio)

or not =\

Never the less i'll have it done-- its not worth risking my car and possibly my life. My guys are good-- my G35 seems to be in effect for all the recalls =\

I have yet to see a hose that isn't cracked & I've done at least 20 so far.

1 note---PLEASE bring your car in with less than 1/4 tank of gas.

Wow, how badly have the 20 been cracked? Where are they cracked at? What is the design flaw in your opinion?

Since you're a tech (or as nissan puts it, master tech ^_^ ), what your explanation for this:

http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=177546

I've read a few odd posts where people get it back and start comlpaining about it being sluggish.

Whell I don't care how "Nissan puts it" I am an Infiniti master. There is NO relation to these hoses & how the vehicle will run! These are just the filler neck hose that attaches the filler neck to the tank,2 tank vent hoses, & 1 hose at the vent control valve. The reason for the recall is the hoses are cracking & causing the SES light to come on for an evap system leak. Before the recall we would see a few of them a month. The install is not that bad. I really feel for the techs in the salt states. We had to do a car that had recently moved here & everything was rusted. It whooped my tech's butt bad.

Eh, i just had my tranny replaced, 30K mile service, and fuel sending units replaced last month. They didn't do this recall service on my G. Anyone had this done on a '03 coupe?

Now the real Q is.. is this a Recall.. or Campaign.. You posted information from a Campaign listing.. which means if you don't get it done in a certain amount of time given.. the fire is on you.

Once a campaign is issued it will never expire. As far as a fire--I don't see it happening. The cracks are causing SES light for a small evap leak.

The difference ina recall & a campaign--------
Recall = Government stepped in & made it happen.
Campaign = Manufacturer stepped in before the government.

Either way your car gets taken care of.
