I havent driven it (except with him in the car). He just told me that, cuz I've noticed when he goes around corners we slide a little bit, opposed to the G where it barely lets you slide at all.

 

I have lit the rear end up with vdc on ,on wet streets. I dont think it is very consistant.

 

I'm pretty sure VDC will take out as much power as it needs-- I forget im modded sometimes when I keep my vdc on-- i hate it

Only when its raining is it on

 

I have a 05 6mt, and VDC is very predictable.

Thus far, it's very reliable. The slip light turn on almost every time I push hard, or turn hard with VDC on. Last night, I pushed hard on wet road, and the car jerked like a fish dashing for freedom. The rear end fish-tailed as VDC was manipulating throtle. Felt very funny, but it works almost every time.

However, it let me do a power slide right turn once (with the light on).

But don't expect it to save you if you dive into a turn on slippery road with excessive speed ( --scary for me ). It only work as far as traction allows.

 

Last weekend was my first time driving my new G in the rain. So I took it to a parking lot to see what I could do with VDC off. Just gave it some gas a few times with the wheels turned But it was too slick to really spin that much. Then I got some speed and turned and totally started spinning to the right so I tried to correct it and did a full 360 degree spin. That was awesome but scary too. Had to take off cause people were watching in the distance.

 

I would say the same. I feel it working when I get a little crazy in a turn. I do have a problem with HOW much power it pulls back, however.

 

Can the VDC Make the clutch go out prematurely?
I smelled burnt clutch everytime it turns on.
Should I just disconect the VDC to prevent my clutch or my tranny going out?

 

Ok, surefire test. At a stop, turn the wheel all the way in one direction.

Floor it in first, holding the turn.

If that doesn't get VDC going, then you have a problem.

 

vdc has absolutley no bearing on the clutch. just the engine output and brakes.

 

VDC is very noticable on my car. If you take a turn to fast it wil start braking the wheels pretty hard and cut power to the wheels. Take the car into a parking lot and do a few test runs. VDC doesn't stop the wheels from sliding completely; it will let them slide alittle and then kick in...

 

I don't really trust or like VDC, so I have it off most of the time. It nearly got me in an accident once when I needed to merge quickly and VDC came on and slowed me down... man that was a scarely moment. I'm confident in my driving skills as I have owned high powered RWD car before(MKIV Supra with 500hp or so and FC RX-7 with 290rwhp ).

 

I actually like VDC. There were many times that it has "saved" me and prevented the car from taking a turn too wide or almost spinning out. When I want to have fun, I can easily slide out with my VDC off. Since I have an automatic its just "turn the steering wheel, step on gas." It would be very hard for me to drive in the rain without my vdc because my car still slides out even with the vdc on in the rain. My rear tires are balding, so its very fun in the dry, and very scary in the rain.

 

I do not like the VDC, when you need to haul *** to get on a freeway the sucker can drop you out,scared the **** out of me the first time it happened.

Good luck getting a dealership to "test" VDC for you? You probably want to do your own test drive and have the tech sit shotgun.
