Maybe I'm getting cynical in my old age, but check out what type of 30K service is performed on cars that offer free maintenance to what Infiniti recommends. Replace engine drive belts at 30K miles??? Replace radiator cap??? You won't find Audi or BMW doing that kind of crap at 30K miles for free.

I got quoted $350 for my 30K service.. I said F that.. I looked at the list and it doesn't look like they do much. The stealership really tries to rip people off with these 30K services. I asked them if they can replace a cracked plastic piece that holds the cruise control buttons on the steering wheel but they said I would have to buy a whole new steering wheel LOL which costs like $700.

I got charged $72 and change for an oil change and that was the last draw. I will never be going back to that dealership again!

do you like your dosa with sambar?

anyway, 72 for an oil change is a total rip off...are you sure you're not getting mobil 1 synthetic at least (still expensive at 72).

i was quoted between 750 and 800 for the 30K mile service. Another dealer in the area wanted 900 bucks for the 30K mile service for my old I30. Ridiculous.

Does anyone know any specifics on how your warranty will be honored if you were to have these major interval services performed elsewhere?

Definitely save your money on the in cabin air filter. I found the OEM one at a website and it cost like $22 shipped. Took me 20 minutes and was very easy using the DIY that is posted. Next time it will take 10 minutes. Very easy to do and I am not all that mechanically inclined.

at 30K, i just had my dealer changed my oil/filter. then i bought from them air and incabin filters and put them on myself. i checked my liquids and topped them off, although most of them are at max. that's it.

no need for tranny, coolant and differential flush at 30K, unless your daily drive is like what's considered under Premium Maintenance in our service manual, check it.

but if you haven't had your brakes checked ever since, i suggest you have them checked if you dont know how.

Could you (or anyone) tell me where I could find one for this price? What site did you use for the OEM one. Everythingg35.com, which I use, seems to be about $50 for this filter. Thanks.

For the "in-cabin" filter? I imagine that is a different type of material, probably a Hepa filter.

Today I took my car into the Infiniti dealership to do the 30,000 miles service. The price for the service was $349.99, so I said okay and left the car there. Then after two hours they called me and told me the drive belt had cracks in them so recommended me to replace them, and charged me for $215 or something. If I was not too lazy to find another shop to do it I wouldn't have said "go ahead and replace it". Anyway, I ended up paying $545for the whole service. I start to think maintaining and using this car is much more expensive than any other car my family has ever owned. This year I have already replaced the battery, the front brake rotors and pads, and this stupid drive belt thing, and I am still not counting all the other free recalls and parts replaced under warranty. Too many things go wrong in this car. I am not happy, especially when I realize that this car doesn't worth much if I try to sell it.
