Grease Streak Problem

Hey guys, I have the grease streak problem as well. If i take the car in for that and the 1,000 mile service, how long do you think it will take? Would I receive a G35 loaner car? Thanks guys.

Re: Grease Streak Problem

I took mine in for the grease streak, the 7.5K tune up, and my interior trunk grab handle was broken. They ended up having to order a window regulator, which took a few days. I haven’t gone back yet, I’m just going to wait ‘til my next oil change. I talked to the service manager about waiting and he said it was fine ‘cause they’re going to stock the parts now anyway. So, I have no idea how long it will take, but make sure to call ahead and get them to order the part. I’d even call a second time to check to make sure, the first time I took my car in for the grab handle they hadn’t written it down after all, so it didn’t get fixed until the next service appointment.

As for the loaners, I’d just ask how long it will be and if you can have a loaner. I would think it shouldn’t be a problem unless it’s a short fix.

Re: Grease Streak Problem

Everytime we lower our windows and bring them back up, some streaks appear on our windows. Hey Princess, how long did it take the dealer to get the problem fixed? Did they issue you a loaner car? I wonder if i'll get one. I want to test drive the sedan, and see how it compares.

Re: Grease Streak Problem

I read the TSB on the grease streak and it says that it only applies to cars built before March of 2003. My car was built after March (I think), and I think I still have the grease streak problem. Will they still fix it? Anyone else with newer cars have the problem, too?

Thanks,

Peter

Re: Grease Streak Problem

Mine was also manufactured after the date posted on the TSB and has the grease streak problem as well... I am taking my car in for the 7500 mi service and I am goign to ask them to look into the grease streak TSB... I will let you know if they take care of it even though the manufacture date is different than the TSB specifies... I would imagine they will fix it no problem... I HOPE THEY DO ANYWAY I'll let you know...

Re: Grease Streak Problem

Hmm...I'm not sure of the production date on my car but it came in mid-june...and I have the grease streak problem as well...
But I notice more so on hot days and ever since I got my windows tinted.

I haven't had the time to take it into the dealer yet, but I've come up w/ my own quick fix for it...
I've noticed the grease comes right off with a little zaino Z-5 (car polish). And on top of that, it leaves the area of the window so slick that the grease won't be able to stick to it again for a while...about 2 weeks on the average... so until I can find time to take it in...I guess this will have to do for now...

Re: Grease Streak Problem

When you guys say grease streak, can you explain exactly what it looks like ? For example with a clean window, then roll down, then roll up, does it leave a slight "white" kinda filmy haze, or is it actual black sludgy grease? Mine has that white kinda hazy or whatever, is that it?
