Hood Spacer
does anyone have motordyne's hood spacer kit??
i just put one on, but i didnt have the manual.
here are what mine look like. the black connecting nuts dont go all the way to the top of the hood. if i do put them all the way up then i cant put in the bottom bolt. all the spacing is the same each has 6 threads out. i just did a few test runs and the hood seams to be pretty stable but was wondering what you guys thought
i called and talked to tony and emailed him but he has sent me the instructions yet, and i am gettin ready to head down to the track here in a few mins
thanks

Are those studs on the hood? So, you replace the original nuts on the bottom with long nuts on the top and new bolts from the bottom, right? I would trim the studs or the bolts that came with the kit. Or, you could bolt on the original nuts before you put on the long spacer nuts (just sandwich them together). That should take up the 6 threads that are showing.
How many threads from the hood studs are in the long spacer nuts? How many threads from the new bolts on the bottom are in the spacer nuts? Try to keep them about even if you can for strength.

well on 240sx's people put spacers so it raises the hood allowing the engine to cool more and get better airflow...Im not sure if it even works but I love it when I see it. It's JDM TYTE YO!

alright i talked to tony right before i went to the track heres it what you are supposed to do.
the bolts that you see are the ones in the hood. you have to cut those about a quarter of an inch off. then the spacer will screw all the way up to the top of the hood like stock. then you take the other bolts and screw the hood brackets on the the bottom of the spacer nuts.
since i didnt have anything to cut them with, tony and i decided that it was probably better to take them out for safety reasons, even though the hood seemed pretty stable. i imagine tony didnt want the liability issuses if something went wrong.
