Does anybody know where I can have my fog light bulbs installed? I tried to remove the fender piece to access the fog lights, but after removing the pins and the screw, I just couldn't pull the fender protector out. Anybody know any certain gas stations or like a Midas or some place that will know how to do it?

 

Probably not. I don't think I removed everything. Either way, I'm not doing it again. I just wanna pay someone to do it because I just don't trust myself to do this.

 

SUCCESS !!! I just installed my aftermarket fog lights bulbs!! After spending mad time figuring out how to open up those fenders, I was able to do it! I didn't need to use a jack or ramps. What I did was, if I was working on the left fender, I turned the wheel all the way to the left. I popped out 5 of the rivets and opened up one screw. Then, I turned the wheel all the way to the right, and popped out one last rivet, and that's it! I was then able to pull down the fender and have access to the fog light bulbs. I...am a genious !!!
Anyways, Illusion Lighting is able to do the projector xenons for me, but it is a bit pricey. I am going to see how these aftermarket fogs work out for me at night, then I will decide. If anyone is interested in projector xenons, PM me and I will give you pricing details and how the whole process works. Thanks !!

 

I think I am going to make a DIY with pictures and stuff to explain what rivets and screws to take out, because everybody who tries to explain what screws and rivets to pop out and all that stuff is absolutely horrible at it. I will make one with some really nice pictures and that can be the standard for everyone to refer to.
The bulbs I used are these bulbs from this German company called "KOBA". They are 60W/55W bulbs, but on the box they brag about them being classified as 135W/125W bulbs (obviously just a marketing thing). I purchased them off of eBay for $7 + shipping. After I installed them this evening I drove around for like a minute and they seemed to be no brighter than the stock fog lights, but after more driving, I will let you know. At the very least, these new bulbs appear much more white/blue than the stock yellow-ish bulbs and they match the Xenon headlights much better, so overall I am satisfied. I know that if I had just gotten brighter fog lights, that would have been the best solution, but as you use a higher watt rating, the bulb runs hotter, and you risk melting the wiring harness. Also, the manual says to specifically use 60/55W bulbs for the fogs...if you want to use something brighter, feel free to take the risk. I am sure that probably nothing will happen, but I prefer to be on the safe side. The bulb size is HB2, which is also referred to as 9003 bulb and H4 bulb. Search for "9003 bulbs" in eBay for the best results.

Yeah, my replacement bulbs are 60/55W just like stock, but they have the whiter illumination to it that matches the Xenons much better.
As for the yellow bulb, I don't know if you can find those easily. That is what Lexus uses for their fog lights. The purpose of the yellow fog lights is that snow reflects off of the yellow light better, and in fog, other people can see you more easily.

 

I just read that article on fog lights. I'll just stick to running my fog lights at night, regardless of weather conditions. G35 Xenons suck, and I feel the fog lights really help light the road.
I also read the article on the Blue Halogen bulbs. They said it reduces 67% of light and increases glare by 33%. Before I had my G35C, I had a VW Jetta that came with regular Halogen headlights. Whoever owns or used to own a VW knows that their headlights are absolutely horrible. To remedy this problem, I pruchased 90W/100W blue Halogen bulbs to replace the factory 50W/60W Halogen bulbs. These new bulbs were significantly brighter, lit up the road better, and overall made night-time driving actually decent, and these lights had the blue Xenon look to them.
