Re: Fair coupe price

first dealer i went to, wouldn't budge on price. didn't have any 6mtC's on lot. says as soon as they hit they are gone. in fact, if an order falls through, they said they call someone on their list and sell immediately. they said they also see if other dealers have unsold 6mtc's coming in and sell them.

my deal was timing and situational. placed order on allocation order day.

Re: Fair coupe price

I would just like to say that I went to the same dealer StudlyMobile is talking about, and got the same price on an order for a 2004 6mt coupe twilight blue willow interior with only sunroof. I ordered today (friday, sept 5th)

Many thanks

Re: Fair coupe price

I was able to bargain with a dealer and get $2700 off the last 2003 on the lot, but I really wanted a 2004. So I started calling around and guess what...I had to pay MSRP. Of course, I am in an area where coupes are sold BEFORE they reach the dealership, so I knew I was going to get RAMMED.

Thanks a lot for all your answers. I was also offered MSRP without any discussion ... They are selling them very fast, so if it's not me, it's somebody else and so on .... The market dictates that (plus I was looking at a CB with graphite interior, which I understood is quite rare).

Re: Fair coupe price

Just to prove a point, I asked a number of people at the So Cal meet what they thought a coupe would currently cost. The answer was resoundingly that one would have to pay MSRP. In fact, only one person reported getting a discount in Los Angeles area, and he bought it when the G35 coupes first came out last year.

If you are getting a good deal elsewhere, good for you. But don't think you will influence prices everywhere by getting people to not pay MSRP. Fact is, if you live in California and you want a G35 Sports Coupe, you will most likely pay msrp. Yes you could order from out of state, but then do your really think that the miles, the adjustment to smog requirements instituted by the Peoples Republik of California, the time, and the general hassle are really worth $1K?

Yeah...I live in LA, and most of the dealers just offer MSRP. My friend and I are planning to get the coupe together also...have you found any deals yet?

Re: Fair coupe price

stern,
yes, if i had to buy car out of state, then modify to meet standards, i might not go through the hassle for 1000.

but here in nj, it involved a 10 min phone call to a different dealer to get the better price.

location, location, location.
