If there are any independent mechanics around, ask them about Nissan engines. They last forever. I have a '95 G20 with 170K+ miles on the odometer, and the engine is in great shape. I did a compression test on it a few months ago, and the cylinders had nearly identical readings. I used dyno oil for the last 10 years and changed the oil about every 6K miles. So what I'm saying is that synthetic oil isn't essential for the long life of your Nissan/Infiniti engine.

That could be true if you are not hard on your engine.... for me synthetic is only a few bux more and I prefer to have better protection. It boils down to what you want...

I totally agree. I mean if an engine was designed to use Dino oil then why not use it. I could see using synthetic if you are reaaalllyy hard on the car a lot of the time or it sees occasional track use, or maybe even lots of stop and go traffic. Other than that I've used Dino oil in all my cars as daily drivers and the damn engines never fail. I used regular nissan oil and oil filters in my 2005 350Z and never had any problems whatsoever, It's really dependant on what application you are using the oil for in the end. With my 2004 G35 coupe, its going to be Dino oil and nissan oi filters for the life of the car.
