Did you know the key came out of the 2006 Remote

I have my 2006 G35 coupe for about 2 months now. Until today, I did not know I was walking around with a separate key inside of the keyless remote. I was looking at cardomain.com at this guys 2006 G, and he had a picture with a blurb showing his key taken out of the remote. I was astonished.

I'm at work, so I immediately reach into my jacket pocket, took the key out, and start pulling on the key ring. Didn't budge, so I slid the button and pulled, and a key popped out. I was floored. I had no idea that I had a key, except at home, from when the dealer had given me a separate key. I thought that was it. Sweet...

Goes to show you never know everything.

yeah, i usually pop that inside key and give it to the valet driver because i automatically assume they wont know how to start the car and theyll drive to shove the entire keyfob in the key hole. The inside key fits in the ignition

I would like to know this as well. Can the 06 remote replace the 05-earlier model remotes?

That keyfob is for 5AT only. 6MT doesn't get that nice one.

Actually its NOT the valet key. Its there as a backup incase the battery in the fob dies, in which case the Intellistart WILL NOT work. The valet key ( which locks out the glove box and trunk ) is actually a separate ordinary key with a black handle.
