baby car seat in a coupe, possible?

Hey everybody I'm new here.

The wife gave the OK for a G-coupe, provided that it can fit the car seat in the back. In a couple years i'll have to fit a booster chair. Anybody know if its possible...I'm deciding on a G-coupe versus a wrx sti. obvisously the 4 doors are better for the car seats, but i won't be transporting the baby very often. I also won't be able to make full use of all the sti's potentials driving to and from work in traffic so i'm leaning heavily towards the coupe.

who here has a car seat in their coupe?

thanks

I have two in the back seat of my 05 coupe right now. They fit fine. Not real easy getting the kids in and out, but not that hard either.

i had a car seat now its a booster for my daughter. dont forget to get a mat or towel so it wont make creases in the seats. and its just a bit hard to get in and sercure them but its easier now with a booster seat.

what kind of car seats do you guys have? i currently have the Graco travel system where the base stays in the car. When i had a scion tc i couldn't fit the stroller in the trunk w/o flopping down on side of the back seat. Can you fit a stroller this size in the coupe's trunk? if not its no big concern as the stroller normally stays in the murano anyways.

when i got the g my baby was already in the larger seats which was an eddie baurer (sp?) but that stood in the car until i her booster seat. so im not sure how well the travel one will work since those will limit how much u can the passenger can go back. but i never had problems with the 2 seats she had.

OMG! I couldn't even make out the car blasting by... (Evo?). That thing launched like the camery was parked, even though it looked like he took off first.

Now how do I get my car to do that against the Evo?

Back to the thread... booster is fine, I take my nieces around. Never tried a whole baby seat, but looks like others don't have a problem. Some seats are built too wide though, our "bucket" rear seats have too much cushion on the sides so it will slide around. Get one w/ a smaller base, and use a towel or a mat to keep it from sliding. Most of the creases left by the seats work themselves out after a few hours.

I never checked, but do we have those child seat restraint connectors like the sedans in the rear?

I'm more worried about how bumpy it can get in the rear of the car. (post '04 have higher spring rates in the rear for the sports tuned suspension).

For my toddler, I had an alpha omega elite, but she couldn't see over the side window sill, so I swapped the Britax Marathon in and now she sits higher. The 05 coupe has the rear tether which helps a lot in securing the seat.

OMG that is SICK. Honestly I'd go with the Subie if I had kids.

I guess this was close to a year ago... ...my son is almost 4 and bigger. He still digs riding in the G with me.

FWIW, this is my car and the wife has an SUV family-hauler, as we also have a 7mo. baby girl. The G will work for the entire family in a jam, which is why I got the back-seat-equiped G instead of a strictly 2-seater.

I still haven't put a child seat in the G for my daughter but I'm sure the rear-facing child seat will take more room. It'll work if the need arises. If you have to use your car, specifically, to drive the kids various places, then the coupe might be a bit tight. For me, just having my son with me occasionally, it works great and I still get to drive a sports car.

Booster seat might be okay. But a newborn seat that using a base/seat might be hard to deal with. Clumsy, big and sorta heavy. And I'm not sure if a rear facing seat will clear the two front seats. Would be best to take the seat and actually try it.

When I got my Sedan, my daughter was still in rear facing mode. I took my seat and put into a sedan to make sure it cleared.
